i had a 22 hw100 and it liked most pellets i tried. it liked accupells, ftt's, air arms, falcons, superfield, superdomes (out to 35 yards but they dropped like stones after that). the pellet i hunted with in the end was powapells. i dont know why it liked them that bit more than accupells, but it did. it only did 10.9fpe with them, but stacked them on top of each other. when i got into doing a spot of target shooting as well, i eventually settled on air arms fields 5.52. i was gutted as they're one of the most expensive. a cheap pellet it liked out to 40 yards was milbro caledonians. t

if you do enjoy it at the club. keep your eyes out on the anston forum cos we do open days a couple of times a year. you're not far away from the club at all if you're in worksop. i'm mansfield, so i takes me 25-30 mins to get there. its a top club with 12 acres of woodland. good lads too. -
Recomend Me A Good Pcp For Hunting

s200 with the air arms multishot conversion would make a nice little gun. my lads got one in single shot and its as accurate as hell. in 177 and filled to its sweet spot of 170bar. he gets 45 very consistent shots. the cz barrel is bang on. a chap at the club bought a single shot scorpion that wouldnt group for toffee. it turned out it had a dodgy barrel (which is rare for bsa as their barrels are normally excellent) so he swapped his barrel for a s200 cz barrel. its now one of the most accurate guns in the club. the scorpion is also a great gun. in my opinion the scorpion is the best pcp -
if you be patient there's some proper bargains to be had. you'd be far better off with a second hand weirauch gun than a brand new gamo. try and get to a club and have a go with other peoples set ups to get an idea of what suits you best. its so easy to go out and buy the first gun you see and end up regretting what you bought. by then its too late.

sorry to keep going on about the shoot guys, but are you sure i cant twist your arms to still come? it's been confirmed today that hull catridge will be sponcering the shoot and will be donating a 177 hw97. all score cards will go into a hat and whoevers name gets pulled out will be the winner. theres also other prizes such as pellets and other goods supplied by solware. it'll still be a good day lads. davy. i'll give you some info on how to donate as soon as i find out myself mate. its a very kind gesture. you're a gent. also the powers that be have asked if you can please let me know -
ive heard a few people say that hatsan springers are good. whats the trigger like on yours? i'm not a massive trigger tart, but i do like a trigger to break cleanly as it helps with accuracy. there was a review of their underlever springer in one of the mags a few months ago. does anyone know which model it is? i thought it looked quite well in its turkish walnut stock. it was gary chillingworth that did the review i think. springers are great aren't they?

uttings, city air weapons at lincoln do some ok deals on pellets. i get most of my pellets from a chap at the club. when we're all ready for some pellets we ordermultiple sleaves at a time. you save quite a lot of dollar when you buy them in bulk. have any of you tried the new batches of air arms fields yet? as everyone will already know jsb make them. they have supposed to have got their own dies specially for the air arms pellets. ive heard good reports about them and have got half a sleave to try in my hw100 and mpr. ive had them a while now, but still havent tried them cos a mainly use

thanks davy for the offer of donating to cancer research. i'll get some details and let you know how you can donate. i'm also interested in some southern boinger action. ive shot at kibworth and they know how to put out a cracking course. i doubt i'll be able to make them all with the nefta hunters going off, but i'll try and get to whatever i can. will one of you let me know what i need to do to book please? cheers. -

reading the previous posts lads. i think you might have this comp mixed up with the comp you all did last year. this is the first time we've done anything like this. its a new format. same as davy says. there's 4 people entered in 22 class. if whoever comes 4th, will be 4th. does that make them the 4th best 22 springer shooter in the country? if there were 20 or so it would probably be valid. its not a fully blown hft comp, its not a fully blown ft comp or sft for that matter. we're trying. si. you mentioned it not being worth it to shoot at the level its at. over half of the peopl -

i agree with what you're saying lads. when i shoot the winter leagye, i normally shoot sft cos i like to shoot on 10mag and am not really a fan of ft. in sft they dont do a recoiling class which is utter crap. i still shoot it with my springer which puts me at a disadvantage. i get a proper buzz when i manage to beat the pcp boys on the odd occasion. i still managed to finish 2nd overall this year. i'll try and persuade them to do a 22 class. thing is. they're trying a different format and are trying to bring all the disciplins together. they're doing a 40 shot course where you shoot whate -
basically you just show it the lube. as sparingly as possible. when dave did mine, he put a very fine film on the spring and just 3 dabs in the piston. he said it spreads itself to where it needs to get with use. once he'd done it i bought a couple of cheap tins of hobbies andshot 50-100 a night to help it settle in and then tested a few different sort of pellets. i could feel it getting nicer the more i shot it.

Air Arms Tx200 Vs Weirauch Hw97K/kt
gasman1 replied to jandcguns's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
yes mate. dave hall did it. luckily he doesnt live too far away so i took it to him and sat there while he did his thing. he also shown me some of the old springs and crap that he's took out of some of the other guns he's tuned. some of the lubes were like tar. some out of hw's, others out of air arms. the factory lubes do their job, but they're not a patch on a proper job. he also makes his kit individually for each gun he does. mine came aprt 3 times before he was happy with it. it was great to watch him do what he does. well worth the money. -
ive watched your vid shooting the spectre and it looks like an excellent gun. the stock and adjustable butt pad finishes is off a treat. is tony going to do some in 177 too? i got round to changing the breech seal on my 97kt today and did a 10 shot string. the first 2 were 781fps, the next 7 were 782 and the last was 784 with jsb blues. 10.8fpe. just right as it seems happy at that power. i was suprised at how cosistent it is. a proper fettled springer is way more cosistent than a regged pcp. mines easily as accurate as my hw100 if i do my bit.

well for a start 22 is just as accurate as 177. if you're going to do bench resting at a set distance and you know the range, you would already be zero'd for that distance, so i cant see how the tragectory would make much difference. its in hunting or competition conditions that 22 is a disadvantage because if you're a couple of yards out with your range estimation a 22 would strike a lot higher or lower than a flatter flying 177 pellet would. thats why people use 177 as its more forgiving at different ranges. i'm not 100% of the rules of bench resting. do they measure the size of the grou

i'd rip it out of his hans too. you could always send it away for a reblue or get it dipped/wrapped to cover it. 95s are great guns.

ive used blackpool, uttings, range sports. i try and buy bits and bobs from my local gun shops. one of them is really struggling at the mo, which is a real shame. they really look after their customers. if you buy a pcp off of them, they fill it up free of charge for life as long as you own the gun. people just dont seem to have any spare cash to keep them going. it'd be a shame if it were to close.

i tried on on my hw100. it was one with an adjustable cone. i was supposed to move the cone in or out to fine tune how well it worked. my groups got slightly worse and my zero moved about 5mm left. i wanted it to work cos it looked good. the gun just didnt like it. as soon as it took it off and put the silencer back on it went back to one holing at 30yards. some of them do look nice for a bit of bling, but thats about it. i think a lot of it is a confidence thing. a lot can be said for positive mental attitude. for them that believe, fair enough. it didnt work for me though.

anston is just off of junction 30 of the m1. 5 or 10 mins drive at the most. it'll be a good day. i'll try and find out if there's a seperate 22 class. i'm pretty sure there is, but dont mark my words on it. -

if i were to get a bsa it would be the scorpion se. its got a nice balance, not too big, not too small. has a nice stock and a decent shot count for the size. the s410/510 is also a good gun for the money, but is starting to get a bit pricey. if you're after a smaller gun ie the ultra, i'd also have a good look at the s200 which is a very underated and often overlooked gun. our young un has one in 177 and its a great gun. although they only come in single shot format, you can buy a multishot ad on for aroud 60 quid at a later date if money is a bit tight. i'd say the best allrounder pc -

i thought it wasnt too bad. it sempt to be even all over, but it had a band about 15mm wide that was a shade lighter. i was just in front of the scope on the cylinder. it wasn't an eye sore and didnt stand out a mile, but was there. i'm not sure if its a join from the machining or if it was a patch that hadnt been polished as well before blueing. overall i was impressed with the gun. it had a slight twang that i could only hear when i fired it. i couldn't hear it if someone else fired it. the accuracy was excellent. i also dont mind the stock. the balance felt about right for me and i'm no -
Air Arms Tx200 Vs Weirauch Hw97K/kt

i ended up with my hw97kt by accident. originally i bought a brand new tiger striped walnut pro sport in 177. it was gorgeous to shoot, but developed a problem and had to go back to air arms for some tlc. it came back 2 weeks later no better than before it went. the shop was very good with me and exchanged it for another. this one was also stunning in a very dark walnut stock. lovely graining. this one lasted about a week before it developed the same problem as the first. the shop offered to send it back to air arms for me, but by now i'd lost faith in it so asked them if they would let me
