    I know a few that show it but the owners don't allow them to use it properly they see it as hunting on or buggering off so to speak , then there is a few who point blank won't use there nose or sight unless the owner is pointing them in the right direction ... Then we have the ones that are never allowed off the slip unless they are running something and once they are off they go wild they are free they won't come back to owner the owner gets pissed off dog gets put on merry go round . It's that simple put in the time from young and you end up with a dog that will do what you expect in the fie

Some of these coursing types are good animals, and also fairly versatile I couldn't keep just a point and slip running dog they need to be able adjust and work things out for themselves ?

    I've a few books myself to read this summer but hopefully if I can get my fly casting right it will be spent along the rivers with twix in tow tessa will have to stay at home on them days as she doesn't know how to switch off lol

    Cheers lads he has been a mind challenge which gets me onto thinking is it because of slow starters and impatient owners the reason why so many dogs end up on the merry go round , you take a young lad/lass for instant he has a 16 month pup been like my twix was but sees other lads with a 12 month old dog taking bags of game his first thought would be my dogs no good and possibly give up on that dog .

    Twixs introduction season over almost over now with a rocky start but came on great in last couple of month . At first he wouldn't entertain having rabbit fur in his mouth anything else he was fine with but a rabbit he would run till the rabbit gave up the ghost , it was teeth grittingly tense to say the least I tried everything but he just wanted to run them till they collapsed , thank god he turned the corner and started using his mouth ? and all turned well , he has become like me best buddy we have created a good team together he has started to read me and vice verca if I spot something in

    tidy bitch pal saw Rocco run really liked him fast with excellent mouthye rocco is a cracking dog and seems to chuck some tidy pups I've got another out of him to a saluki x that ne courser had he's about 15 month now doing ok just needs to learn to use his mouth better which in time will come no bull in him though

    If you get the right mixture you can end up with a very good all round freezer filler but it's each to there own on how much of this and that to add in Tessa Saluki/bull/whip/grey x rocco( coursing bred dog) She has never put the brakes on anything I've chucked at her very game and fast and with added coursing dog mixture the lungs to put in a shift ?
