Hi there,
Have an 8 month old female pup. My male dog has just started to hump her he's never done this before. I had him castrated about 5 months ago (agreement with the wife if .... they had mated I would have been castrated as well)
Is this a sign she is coming into her first season or a dominance issue?
Cheers
would say coming into season, dog will still smell her and keep trying to hump as dog bitch senario....

id say gypo joe is your best bet for a long net. If he uses it traditionaly all he will need is a pair of anchor pins which you can get from molecatcher and some hazel sticks which you can cut up the woods
how do i get hold of gypo joe?

thanks for that very informative i thought that was the end of my ferreting days!!!!just watching uktv documentary program and they mentioned an area (not this country) being wiped out entirely by VHD....
Heard of mixi but not VHD what causes this and has anyone got any information on it?
This disease broke out in farmed rabbit populations in China in 1990. It is extremely infectious and develops very quickly. It is invariably fatal and wiped out millions of rabbits in intensive rabbit farms.
The disease kills the rabbit quite quickly and leaves no obvious outward sign, unlike the swollen eyes etc of myxamatosis.
In death from Viral Homogenous Disease, the rabbit will often have its legs stretched strait out to the front and rear.
There have been occurrences of the disease in the UK, mostly on rabbit farms, but also some in the wild population.
At first there were fears that the disease would be the new myxamatosis and wipe out the entire rabbit population. However because the onset of the disease is so rapid there is little opportunity for it to carried any distance. Outbreaks of the disease tend to be localised in areas heavily populated by rabbits and it does not tend to spread easily.
Viral Homogenous Disease was at first classified as a notifiable disease in rabbits but due to the limited number of outbreaks this is now no longer the case.
Hope this helps

no ginger ones but this year iv shot/ caught alot of rabbits that have a heavy percentage of grey in them, il try and post a picture next time i get one, never had any like it before but they seem to be well spread out on my ground this year??
do you think this has come through the tame rabbits that have escaped in the past? what other reasons could there be for the break out of different colours in different areas?
im on the edge of the cairngorms in scotland, not that many pet rabbits up this way..
that puts that idea out the window then!!!!
we are in the south east of kent

we were out walking today with our dogs and came across 7 - 8 pure ginger rabbits in a 2-3 mile radius.
havnt seen these for 4-5 years now and this is r regular ferretting ground. its nice to see them but is it a common experience elsewhere as havn't seen so many ginger buns here before..............
