  1. Thanks again 72line per, I got quite a shock when I saw the price of the Watec 902... £131.69 + £5.27 P&P . Guess it should be rather good for that price.
  2. Hi Andy Just wondered if you managed to resolve the indexing problem...
  3. Thanks for taking the time to reply 72line per. DIY will definitely be the way to go for me I think. Would appreciate if you would put the ebay numbers up. Bit concerned that a lot of the components used appear to come from the far east, in your opinion are they OK with service, and does it take long to arrive? Attachment to the scope etc shouldn't be too much of a problem, got loads of tape and a big hammer sure I'll figure something out. Cheers.
  4. Hiya 72line per, Managed to get registered on nightvisionforumuk. Been trawling through a lot of the threads. As you have shown by your post, there are loads of helpful people on these forums, just as well with a novice like me, much appreciated I must say. I use a HW100ks .22 @ 11.7 ft lbs, AA Fields, I would say 40 yards max, if I get plotted up at a warren, but have had them a little over that whilst stalking (45-50 yards) during daylight hours. Generally they are away if you get within -100 yards of them. They are very lamp shy, and it seems they do the damage to the fruit trees (ring bar
  5. Being interested in obtaining night vision, I registered with http://nightvisionforumuk.com almost 3 weeks ago, received the automated acknowledgement, but not the follow up activation email. Emailed asking if there's a problem, but still no reply. Have tried to log in but 'do not have the required permission to view'... Must be some pretty good info on there, looks like I won't be privvy to it though more's the pity.
  6. Mac, I recall Mark Gilchrist shot one about 18 months ago (another was shot same session). Found the clip on youtube Also recall he got plenty of hate mail because of it..
  7. Andy Just a thought. Is the magazine securing slide moving 'fully' forward after you have inserted the magazine? I have noticed that it doesn't always engage fully, but a slight rotation/movement of the magazine will then allow the securing slide to fully engage. HTH.
  8. Jack Sounds like you don't mind a little 'kick' in your sausage I have tried lots of different flavours over the past 8 years, but one I found very nice was a basic sausage mix with Dunnes River Jamaican Jerk Paste added, along with some roughly chopped semi-dried apple. When adding the ingredients, do so little by little and 'always' fry off a little piece before stuffing into casings in case you need to alter the flavour. I see you live in the West Midlands, so you can get the Jerk Paste in one of those afro-carribean shops, alternately, ASDA sell it. Most supermarkets sell the small
  9. Thanks Si, all logical when you think about it... or have it explained appreciate it.
  10. Looking for a bit of advice from those that know. Hope this makes sense, and my apologies if it has already been asked or if it's a silly question. My dilemma is that I have a small garden, about 42 ft. I have zeroed my rifle at 30 yards at a mates place and whilst out at the permission, and spent a bit of time measuring the trajectory drop at 60 and 65 yards. Bearing in mind that the trajectory of my 22 pellet travels through the 'boresight' line (POI?) once on it's way to the 30 yard zero, is there a way to find the exact distance to the first intercept point so that I could zero it on t
  11. Have been making this on and off for over 20 years. In the early days I used to buy rabbits off a mate I now shoot with. You can 'tweak' the ingredients to suit your taste, i.e. more mustard, more cider, the addition of a couple of cloves of crushed garlic, replace the water with chicken stock etc. I have even added pre-cooked green lentils. Enjoy. Rabbit with cider and mustard casserole Ingredients: 1 whole rabbit- jointed (will yeild 5 portions). 12 to 15 small shallots or pickling onions. ½ pint cider (dry or sweet, doesn't matter will be adding some honey). e
  12. Here is a very simple recipe for Rabbit Stefado, which is basically a Greek stew, but a fair bit drier than our UK stews. It can be cooked 'on' or 'off' the bone. Rabbit Stefado Ingredients: 1 medium rabbit (jointed) ½ pint Red Wine ½ cup Red Wine Vinegar ½ Teaspoon Cinnamon 1 Onion, chopped 1 crushed clove of Garlic (optional) 1 heaped teaspoon of Tomato Puree Flour to thicken sauce Method: Sweat meat in a non-stick pan, no oil, until it browns Add red wine and vinegar Simmer gently until liquid reduces by half (approx 2 hours) Fry onions in a separate pan (with optional ga
  13. Hi Craig Don't have an s200, got a HW100SK .22 cal. Excellent gun albeit a bit heavy with the bipod attached, when walking the orchard. Use it in conjunction with a Hawke 400 range finder. As the orchard is also hunted by rim and centre fire guns, these rabbits tend to dissappear at about 100 yards, so have to try to be extra cautious to get within air rifle range. Same with lamping, they don't like white lights or red filters, they have seen it all before, so I am considering some kind of NV setup. To say this permission is a challenge is an understatement, but quite enjoyable nonetheless. S
  14. Hi bunnyman, totally agree. I have found Si & Davy's youtube clips very helpful indeed. Good explanations of hints and tips for a newbie such as me, and entertaining as well. Big thanks indeed for their time and effort.. Am out tomorrow to have a go at some rabbits (hopefully) at an orchard, very shy rabbits I might add. Only regret is that I didn't take up hunting earlier in life. Craig, it was Corvid Chaos which took me from a backyard plinker to going hunting. I particularly like that if I am successful, there's a nice bit of bunny meat at the end of it. Made some Rabbit Jambalaya
  15. Hi Craig, you won't be dissappointed with it. I have watched David James dvd over and over, brilliant. I saw on his interview on CPTV with Malc Barnard that he's bringing out a sequel soon, Corvid Chaos 2. I will definitely be getting that.
  16. Thanks for the welcomes, have been spending many hours ploughing through the forum and have happened across some interesting stuff. Particularly interested in the night vision section. Thawing out 2 more rabbits, my shooting pals want another dose of the tandoori rabbit curry on the next outing. Regards.
  17. Hello people As a newbie to the forum, I thought an introduction appropriate. Took early retirement at 53, am now almost 59, and found my sons old chinese 177 springer last year and started plinking in the garden. Did a bit of google research and watched some youtube videos bought a pellet catcher and some card targets, and decided a gun upgrade was in order. Decided on a HW100S in 22. a Hawke 3-9x40 Sport HD-IR-AO scope. A snipersystems swivel bipod also went on. Joined BASC, and bought Huntersvermins DVD. Got busy practising and then contacted an ex workmate who has been shooting
