  1. I have been using Teak Oil on my HW100ks, bought from Wilko's/Wilkinsons, and it does a fine job. To be fair, any oil you put on decent hardwood like walnut will enrichen the wood and accentuate the grain over time. Had mine about 30 months now and used the teak oil every time, and I like the result.
  2. The ignorance and tunnel vision of anti's is remarkable, always reminds me of the idiom 'There are none so blind as those who will not see.'
  3. Same on my perm, has been quite poor for about 18 months now. What used to be prominent reliable warrens where you could plot up for an hour or two during daylight and guarantee 3 or 4, are now devoid not only during the day, but also at night. Also noticed that the fruit trees are not getting gnawed like they were 2 years ago. Obviously the farmer is well pleased, but it's put the mockers on the shooting. I had a run of 6 trips out for 1 shot, which struck a twig and the bunny did the off. I have seen a couple with mixy. My 2 mates went out last time with CF and Rimmy and scored zero, and onl
  4. How the f**k can you control 6 dogs if you only have one arm??? Idiot needs his head amputating.
  5. Lying in bed last night and the wife came in the room, bent over me and whispered "I've had a nice shower, and shaved 'down below', you know what that means don't you?" "Yeah!... the f**king plug holes blocked again."
  6. I believe your reply was aimed at me Davy Thanks for the hints and tips, appreciate it. The advice regarding heating the barrel was a great help. I did find both the grub screws to remove the barrel, one for the brass bit was hiding underneath the magazine clip. I'll set the target up tomorrow and put a load of AA Fields through it with the chrono, and see how it goes through the range down to about 130 bar. I haven't actually unscrewed the cylinder yet, but have the replacement 'O' rings ready and waiting. Also, I like the results I got in Chairgun Pro with my scope set on 8x mag wi
  7. It would seem that the Union Jack mankini is the latest 'must have' beach/pool fashion accessory... hmmm..
  8. A hungry bloke walks into a cafe in Glasgow. He sits at the counter and notices a Jock with his arms folded, staring blankly at a bowl of chilli. After ten minutes of just sitting there staring at it, the hungry bloke bravely asks, "If you aren't going to eat that, mind if I do?" The old Jock slowly turns his head toward the young bloke and says, "Nah, ye can gae ahead." Eagerly, the young bloke reaches over and slides the bowl over to his place and starts spooning it in with delight. He gets nearly down to the bottom and finds a dead mouse in the chilli. The sight was shocking and
  9. I went to the pub last night and saw a fat chick dancing on a table. I said, "Nice legs." The girl giggled and said, "Do you really think so." I said, "Definitely! Most tables would have collapsed by now."
  10. A Zebra dies and arrives at the Pearly Gates. As he enters, he asks St. Peter, ' I have a question that's haunted me all of my days on earth. Am I white with black stripes, or am I black with white stripes?' St. Peter said, ' That's a question only God can answer.' So the zebra went off in search of God. When he found Him, the zebra asked, ' God , please - I must know, am I white with black stripes, or am I black with white stripes?' God simply replied ' You are what you are.' The zebra returned to see St. Peter once more, who asked him, ' Well, did God straighten out your query for you?
  11. Best thing you can do is type "Youtube Hawke ChairGun Pro Part 1 with Si Pittaway " into google. There are 3 parts, and Si takes his time and explains it all very well. You will need to chrono your rifle with the pellets you will be using. I did download the latest version, but found it had a few bugs so uninstalled it and reinstalled Chairgun3 Pro, version 1.0.5b, which worked great for me. Edited to add, you can opt for good old imperial 'yards' or the new fangled 'metres'.
  12. At the touch of her lips, it grew long and swollen. I sighed as she squeezed and pulled expertly. It was the best balloon giraffe I'd seen Staring at her beautiful body, I asked what she wanted me to do. She told me to go for something between a smack and a stroke. So I went for a smoke 'How do you feel about using toys in the bedroom?' she asked. 'Fine,' I said, 'But I can't see how we're going to fit a Scalextric in here.' Her body tensed and quivered as she felt wave after wave flow through it. I probably should've told her about the new electric fence. My tongue flicked in and out, in
  13. Interesting read that... and it does no harm at all to be reminded about what our past generations went through.
  14. I have always thought that these people came here just to take from us and give nothing back, how wrong I am. They have brought us ritual child sacrifice, genital mutilation, and very soon we should be getting ebola...
  15. Thanks Matt, despite the bit of frustration, I quite enjoyed the tinkering. I am even considering maybe splashing out on a Robert Lane regulator, but I will see how the gun performs for a while and then decide.
  16. It's all done thanks mate, I shopped around for the parts, John Knibbs, Best-Fittings, etc all hassle free. Just got to get out and use it.
  17. Now there's a chance this write-up might send you to sleep as it's just a bit of a yarn really, but the 2 mates I go shooting with have differing views, the 'old chestnut'... 177 or 22 for hunting? I currently use a HW100KS in 22, an excellent rifle, but I recently shot a small bunny at my zero of 27 yards, and the pellet went right through its head, and plenty of gore hanging out. We all know what that looks like so I won't post a photo. Anyway, I thought I'd better chrono the rifle. For most of its 2 year life it has been steady at 11.7 ft/lbs, and I thought it may have crept up. Actually i
  18. I've been renovating an early Air Arms S410 Classic, which was somewhat clapped out. Whilst waiting for parts to turn up I decided to get the oils out and try another dog painting. After watching one of therattingchap's youtube video's I thought I would have a go at a Jack Russell Terrier. Oils on canvas. 40cm x 30cm. Actual oval painted area 32.5cm x 23.5cm. Not the best of photo's, but you can see his eyes in the actual painting.
  19. There's a bit of footage on youtube (poor quality) where Jack Hargreaves explains a ratting stick. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Bl1HQg7aCo
  20. Afraid I can relate to that. I did 35 years of 'all over the place' shifts, and I retired 7 years ago. My body clock is still f**ked. No matter what time I go to bed, I wake up anywhere from 0230 onwards, normally about 0330-0400. Being retired it doesn't matter that much I suppose. Only time I sleep till about 0600 is if I don't get in from hunting 'til about 0100..
  21. I reckon they are all good. Everyone who draws or paints, be it watercolour, oils, acrylics etc, will have different styles and differing skill levels. If the person commissioning the painting or drawing is happy with the result, it doesn't matter what others think. Anyone can take a jpg file along to one of these printing companies, or even do it online, and get the photo printed onto canvas or whatever medium they choose, with whatever digital remastering they want done, but IMO it is much more intimate if done by hand. I have recently got into learning to paint in oils, and done a
