Keep persevering with gaining perms mate took me 2 years when I moved here now I'm picking them up a bit easier. Pen yourself a decent grant of permission letter there are examples on here, have permission slips ready, and when you pop in to see land owners be presentable. Although the rest of the time they see you you'll be camed up and covered in mud that's not the first impression you want to give. Good luck mate. As for coming out and gaining experience with someone I'm a total newb myself but if you're ever down this way you're welcome to tag along. Together we might have half an idea

Nice vid mate. Do mink stink as much as ferrets?

Pretty sure I know what's coming but I'm going to look at a tata Safari on Thursday. 7 seats, big enough and good off road by all accounts. Best of all its half the price of more mainstream in the same category, lower mileage and 5 years younger. Guessing parts will be an issue but the reviews have either been really good on them or really shite, let's hope I can get a good one.

going to look at an outlaw later would you recommend them.

Well guys I'm chopping in my van for a 4x4, looking at a disco at the mo as fairly cheap fairly economical and can still do school run. Any opinions on a decent off roader that won't break the bank. Would love an old army rover but not many about in my price range. Only thing I'm really looking for is 35 mpg or over. Oh and a big enough boot for my stove got to have my bacon sarnie.

Loving learning more about it, give me another 10 seasons and I might start making headway. The other lads want to come along aswell next time, anything to get them away from screens. Considering getting a pooch to mark and pin.

Was eager to visit some parts of my perms that I haven't visited yet so grabbed my kit and one of my boys and headed down. Ran my new Nelson longnet out (excellent ) laid a few purse nets collared up my ferts and off we went. Fert was playing up a bit but after she settled down she didn't appear for a while. A small 1 foot dig and the first was in the bag. Another bolted but ran along the hedgerow to the far side warren. Worked our way across hoping to at worst run them all into one end but not much happening. We reached the far end, netted what we could and set her to work. 2 bolted from unde

Set off today to have a look round a new golf course perm I have with a mate. After a feckin long walk and lots of hill climbing and rustling through gauze walked away with one in the bag. All the signs were there but they just weren't bolting. Feeling a little dejected after 7 hours of hard work we popped into one of his little sites. We split up and netted a couple of sets, 3 mins in and one of my nets pursed and the bugs rolled into a neighbouring hole. Quickly got hold to sort it out with both knees down uncovered holes and boom another flew out 20 ft from me. Necked the rabbit and blocked

You need to get around some landowners and get some permissions mate. There are plenty of letters and forms about to gain them. A ferret finder is a handy tool aswell. I'm a novice myself so I can only say what I got before I felt comfortable to go out on my own. Couple of ferrets, book or research on care they are easy to look after but I'd rather have one in top nick than not, got about 40 purse nets from ebay about 35 quid spent. Hutch, run, ferret box, game bag (already had as I shoot) shovel, decent knife (mora clipper are cheap and good) working gloves and a decent hard wearing waterproof

Woke up to a lovely brisk morning and a day off where it wasn't hammering down. My ferret finder turned up up the day previous so the the only thing to do was to pack up the ferts and the wife and head down to some permission. Upto now I have only been letting them explore small sets as they are this years litter. Walked the hedgerow found a few sets so I showed the good lady how to set the nets and proceeded cover some holes. Collared up my frisky Jill which was an event in itself and we were off. The first few sets had nothing happening and my fert was not staying under for long. Change of f
