Kibble and meat will get him back to normal. Stay away from shite like cat/dog food and cat biscuits.
Have you tried a duck soup as a sort of supplement? I know it's for poorly ferrets but it might be worth your while giving the ferret some once/twice a week until its looking a bit fatter.
I've also heard that chicken baby food is good too (although I've not personally fed mine with it)

I was out last week and there were young in the does as well. I'll do a couple of weeks more just taking the bucks then Its out with the fishing rod for me.
I'm using first season ferrets this year. I'm doing the same as what everyone else is saying. Using smaller warrens. You'll find it won't take them long to get the gist of things after a few trips out.
I've not had to dig any "lay ups"......................Yet.

I waited 21 days before using my hob and I only used him on one jill to start off with to see if it worked. It did thankfully.
