A little insight into the "anti-Semitic thing".......... One of the reasons Joan Ryan joined the new group was the appalling abuse that the likes of Luciana Berger have been subjected to. Just a few observations........for what my opinion is worth ! This feels different to the formation of the SDP - at their height, they had 28 MPs, but only one was a former Tory. I expect a small number of Tories and another handful of Labour MPs to cross the floor yet. The one thing all 11 have in common is their Remain/People's Vote stance. The 3 Tories are now beyond the control of the party whips, but they were always going to try to stop Brexit, regardless of which bench they sit on, so the maths hasn't changed all that much for the Maybot. Petition signed - total over 430,500. The least we can hope for is that the government will realise the depth of feeling. If they can't keep her out, they can, at least, not help her to get back ?

I'm sure others will follow, in the days to come. Their statement that Labour "has been taken over by the machine politics of the far Left" surely puts pay to any hope of Corbyn ever becoming PM ?

Correct, I think.......but she can apply for the child to become a UK citizen - (imagine the hoops she'll be made to jump through to achieve that !) Her son will not be eligible to pass on citizenship to his children, however..........I think.

Thinking about it, the TV report was entirely pointless ! Hare coursing, cock fighting etc are already illegal. You can't make something more illegal (can you ?), so the problem is, maybe, that the police aren't enforcing the laws we already have ? Just a thought...........

I believe that citizenship can only be revoked if it was granted to a foreign-born national- ie the individual is, effectively has dual nationality. If UK citizenship were revoked in this case, nationality would return to the country of birth. I was born here, the latest of many, many generations. As I understand it, there are no circumstances where my citizenship can be revoked. (Aside from the fact that it is against international law to make someone stateless.) Unless anyone knows different ?

IF she is a British citizen and IF she can reach somewhere where consular assistance is available (Turkey or Iraq), then the Foreign Office is duty bound to assist her..........but given her current situation, that's two very, very big "IF"s ! The FO have stated clearly that no diplomatic or military assets will be used to get her out of Syria. She ain't coming back here any time soon !

Her first problem will be to get to a country where she can seek consular assistance - the Foreign Office won't allow their staff into Syria, for obvious reasons. Assuming she manages that - easier said than done - the British Embassy is duty bound to help her (she is a British citizen, like it or not !). They would bring her back here, where she would be immediately arrested on suspicion of terrorist activity, and a prison sentence would almost certainly follow. The consular assistance, the journey back here, the police investigation and the prison sentence........all paid for by you and

A superb goalkeeper - probably the best, in spite of having his career cut short ! The Pele save still beggars belief, even after all this time. I think his most valuable contribution was that he made goalkeepers a valued part of the team. An absolute gentleman and a very sad loss to sort.

The good Lady and me used to foster dogs from a local rescue when they weren't doing very well in the kennels. We once looked after a Neapolitan mastiff, who was handed in because "we didn't realise he'd get so big !" -
