We picked up a new single shot Yildiz 410 for our youngest. Got the gunsmith to fit it, chop the stock down a little and found it a super wee first gun. The accuracy needed with the 410 has taught him some great discipline - and handily it folds down into my game jacket pocket so I now have it as a close-in shottie when out on the rabbits with a rifle ;o)

I've looked into range days before when trying to find a place to zero by .17HMR & .22LR on. It's always nice to settle in with other people for the banter, tips and friendly competition as we hone skills. Obviously I can't use an indoor range with the HMR and the MOD ranges like Altcar won't allow rimfire. On the Fieldsports channel today there is a video of a range day at Braces near Bristol ( ) for open FAC holders. Does anyone have details of similar events in the NW (ideally Lancs)?

Yeah they work. Not the best made things in the world but light as to carry, fold flat and do flap around in a breeze nicely

I've ordered in a flapper and a few pigeons and crows to set amongst my current deeks. They look like they should work fine

I have an integral ammo safe but my FEO (and RFD) both recommended a cheap small safe from B&Q!

They had none last week when I popped in. Nor any VGC cleaning pellets. Both obtained from Malmo.

None of my local shops in N Lancs stock FTTs but my closest store (Malmo) just special orders them for me as and when needed. Takes a couple of days but prices always fair

We've got a 2011 X-Trail that if you watch YouTube will see the Russians find pretty handy off road. Up and lancs to Kent it will do 50mpg without blinking. Day to day around local it's more like 43mpg. Huge boot, gun & kid friendly
