  1. A good dog is a good dog because of the owner/trainer and they will soon go downhill once in the hands of an idiot dog thief
  2. Same area I live in, I'll keep a lookout for her
  3. I'm on the stubble just now, I'll have a shave later before night shift
  4. Not so much the height of the dog more the body weight, small whippets have been known to get dragged by hares
  5. Well put together pups and nicely bred all the best with them mate
  6. Lovely strong looking pup there mate all the best with her
  7. Chicken Chicken Greasy Chicken spew her ring and shit her duds
  8. Just get her a greasy half cooked supermarket chicken in a bag the ex battery hen variety to console her
  9. Looks well enough to me, but if you are feeding the dry stuff you could try mixing a tin of sardines in tomato sauce in with the food, I add one 2 or 3 times a week, the little value ones from Tesco 34p and crammed in like sardines, puts a bit more condition on a dog and my dogs are over half saluki blooded atb
  10. I know mate that's the way I used to do it , but it's not working now for some reason, cheers
  11. Tried that mate, no joy cheers anyway
  12. I remember gary hosker writing about pendle hill years ago in the cmw, reckoned you needed a durable dog for the hares down there
  13. Cannot get my pics onto here from photobucket, anyone else had any problems ?
  14. Naive and full of patter, wonder if he had any decent venison recipes
  15. My old saluki saturated bitch was equipped with a set of snow shoes like that, she could catch rabbits on steep grassy banks and ran the arable well enough, just wish I'd had her from a pup rather than taking her off the carousel, only ever had one toe injury after running down a bank onto a road on the back of a strong one, must say her pups were a good bit better than her and had well knuckled compact feet
  16. As pattinson says only make believe believe lurchers can catch deer, he must have been the last of the great lurchermen
  17. Try getting off your bike and running with the pups see how you feel, it's far too easy to sit on your chuff clocking up the miles,it's too humid to breathe never mind give a pup roadwork
  18. Anyone running pups out of Scruff or got any pictures, heard he's lined a few bitches....cheers
  19. Don't know about broken glass, but I'd rather run my dog on hot coals than some of the stubble fields up here
  20. Get them trotting up on their toes at their own natural pace, used to trot my dogs at around 6 mph non stop for 5 miles or mixed it up with a bit of free running on some grass fields with a few hedgeside rabbits to add a bit of interest, 3 or 4 times a week, other days give them beach exercise/long country walks
  21. Lovely pup that, too bad it's not brindle it could have made a winter mouse hound pre ban
