  2. I've heard it said that the arab's have the best saluki's,and they dont let them out of the country, how true is this, and are there any decent working bred salukis coming into the uk these days ?

  9. As pattinson says only make believe lurchers will take a deer, suppose he was another one of these experts what would we do without them
  10. Sometimes hard to believe where deer can end up,there is a red deer stag living in a horses field on a small nature reserve on tyneside, been there a few year now,and you would have to travel at least 50 or 60 miles at a guess to find the nearest herd of wild reds, also about 15 years ago there was a roe living in a small wooded area down on the fish quay, amazing how deer turn up like this
  11. That's the expert's for you, always thought a working dog with a good nose can get you closer to nature, than any written on paper degree
  12. Sun is shining,time for a back,crack and sack

  18. I agree. There are two big problems with the internet. The first problem is that certain individuals think that they are anonymous from behind their keyboards and can post what they like online with little or no comeback. The second problem is that some members think that posting on here is the same as chatting in a pub or whatever. What you don't get with the written word is the body language that goes with a conversation, nor is their the privacy that you get when you whisper to your mate stood at the bar. That leads to misunderstandings, and people putting two and two together
  19. Ffs ten pages,I was only having a laugh when I started another account
  20. if you don't cut them back far enough they will grow back I could'nt have cut them any further back, everyday there was a bit more regrowth so I kept nipping them back until about the 10th day, then the pups were showing some pain so I never tried again, they were born at the start of the last good summer that we had,and I put their rapid growth down to endless hours of sunshine, and plenty good food, even the dews refused to stop growing
  21. I bred a litter 8 years ago,and removed the dew claws, but they just kept regrowing, the sire still has his, dont know if this is a common thing,I did ask an old racing dog trainer, and he knew of it happening, luckily I've had no problems with them
  22. Thats brill do you live in Stafford yes u couldnt wish to meet a nicer bloke Lol well so far everyone just gibing me greif I dont no why. 23. It's easy to think of saluki crosses just as coursing dogs what with all the matching, forley cups, and fen talk yes they are the best for all that but they have no problem working like any other cross,my dogs are more than half saluki, they have worked fur and feather day and night, and for the 3 seasons that I worked them to fox it was very rare for them to miss one I am not knocking them as a breed, everyman to his own, i kept a line and worked them on teeth and they suited me .is saluki blood the right way to go to the ultimate all rounder. There are probably far too many crosses ava
