Where in Hertfordshire is the estate?
-
Loads of Roe near me, have seen up to 15 within about 6 small fields, very close to built up area, my old bitch knocked over a couple by accident when mooching about, (genuine accidents), I have even startled them on peoples front lawns whilst walking the dogs on the bike early mornings

Anyone know anything about hunting in hungary, I am gong to Budapest to work on a 6 month contract and will have weekends free, I have seen there is lots of shooting but I am mainly interested in dogs and hunting. Any info welcomed, they seem to have a lot of game out there!!! Cheers

Lack Of Game Do Something About It
Greensmen replied to blackgreyhound's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
In my limited experience keepered estates are generally the best for game, I am fortunate to go on some great ground which is very well populated with game, everything from rabbits, hares, foxes, fallow, muntjac & roe. One farm I go on used to have a pair of Roe Deer on it, the farmer said run what you want but just don't let your dogs chase any roe deer, now a few years on he has 7 Roe, he also has a pheasant shoot. The land is just over 2500 acres and in my humble opinion one of -
I had an update today and the dog is still in the vets and will be there until Monday, she is fine though, the only worry now though is the the vets bill as the closest vets just happened to be the most expensive ones in Newmarket!!!! I reckon the bill could be up to a grand.....

I was out today with some friends on a local estate, as we were walking along side some old game cover a hare popped out in front of us, her whippet x who was off the lead at the time ran after the hare, it was a quick run down the cover across the field and straight into a thin wood, the wood had an old 2 strand barbed wire fence going around it and the bitch nearly skinned herself alive! It was a clean cut with literally no blood at all. The picture only gives a top view but from the side her coat was hanging off, it must have been at least 8-10 inches, luckily the vets were only about 2 mil

Ok this is isn't really in the right section but it does involve coursing I keep my bitch who is a patterdale x spaniel in a friends garden (in a kennel & run), the whole garden and house is in a 10 acre plot and is surrounded by houses, the nearest open countryside and wood is about a mile away, anyway I let her out this morning and she ran off down the garden, within a minute I could hear her yapping and assumed she was exercising the local foxes, I walked down to the bottom of the garden and she was now on the other side of the conifers. Then as the yapping got louder I was expecting t
