  1. Nice pics mate, coop looks ace. Plenty of room for the little devils there.
  2. :welcomeani: You'll find this site brilliant for advice, a great tip is to use the forum search box. You can usually find what you're looking for without going through pages and pages, because there is A LOT of brilliant advice here. Or failing that, just post a question, and it's usually answered pretty sharpish. Happy ferreting!
  3. Glad it came for you, looks well worth the wait. Lucky ferts!
  4. My hob is 24 inches nose to tail. He's about 18 weeks old. Does anybody know how long to they keep growing for?
  5. Try this thread:- Ferret training I posted some links with regards to nip training
  6. Don't talk to me about council 'effin pest controllers! They come round, look at something then chuck a bit of poision down. We've had a rat problem for a while now. I get them now and again under my shed. What I find works, is to put a load of my ferrets 'muck' under my shed or in any runs I find and then I don't see them for a few months. They reckon the stupid green 'darleks' (compost bins) that the council insist we use attracts them due to the veg peelings etc. One of my neighbours had a nest of the little feckers in hers, untill a lad from down the road got in there with his ferrets.
  7. This debate has been going on for decades, and there's still no definate answer. As Lurcherman said, they used to say .22 = fur & .177 = feather, but i think it comes down to personal prefrence. Some people swear by .22, because of the greater punch, some people prefer .177 because of the accuracy and penetration. I suppose it all depends on how you shoot, what range you shoot at etc. I've always used .22 because it's what i've been brought up with, all my dad's airguns were .22. I'm sorely tempted to get a .177 next time, but for me it will be a leap of faith, because i've never used one
  8. I know, he brought them on his show to meet Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson! I can't find that clip of him being bitten on They think it's all over, it was on the 'feel the sports person' round. He refused the gloves that he was offered because he thought it might be Anna Kournikova but it wasn't, it was the Brittish ferret racing team! he put his hand on the end of one of the pipes and the fert nipped him and drew blood!
  9. Sorry to hear that mate, it's for the best though.
  10. :11: Reminds me of that time Jonathan Ross got bit, on They think it's all over!
  11. I'd say give her a week or so and see if there's any change then if not, then a one way trip to the vets, I'm sorry to say.

  13. :11: I think you sit at your computer too much!
  14. my pair used to use a litter tray in the hutch, but I found out it was as easier to clean out the soiled wood shavings every day, and the litter was costing a fortune. If I ever get around to building a decent sized run, I might consider using one again.
  15. Here's a few sites I dug out with a couple of quick searches:- http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?cl...p;articleid=500 http://members.aol.com/cbax899/newmine.htm http://www.droitwichferretwelfare.co.uk/caring_ferret3.tpl British Ferret Club website - LOADS of infomatiion on all things ferret Hope these help, but ferrets are like people in that they all have different personalities, what works for one might not work for them all.
  16. It's a medical term for the hair standing on end, nothing else! I had to google it to find out myself! Don't worry about your ferrets war dance, if she was being agressive she wouldn't bother with it, she'd just go for you! You will have to put the kits in there place though if they get too carried away and start to nip too hard. There are plenty of websites that offer tips on how to nip train your ferrets, some often contradict others, so look at a few and take something from each of them and build your knowlege from a few good sites, rather than just reading one. If I have time late
  17. It would be a very boring world if all of us always came to the same opinion! As you rightly say, each to there own
  18. Sounds like play to me, and happy ferts! I just 'borrowed' this paragraph from Wikipedia, under ferret:- The war dance It is easy to confuse this invitation to play and/or expression of happy excitement with a threatening gesture. Posture becomes rigid with wide open jaws, momentary eye contact, followed by thrashing or turning of the head from side to side, arching the back, piloerection and hopping to the side or backwards while facing the intended playmate. This is often accompanied by an excited laughing/panting sound that may sound like a hiss. If responded to appropriately, this b
  19. Nice one, that's some hungry little ferts! I just wish everone who keeps ferts would look up a bit of background info on there little hunters. It's easy enough to find out about them.
