  2. I am looking for a home for my 2 year old Plummer Terrier. He is a smasher , brilliantly bred and works rats for fun. He is slightly bigger than the Plummer standard but an absaloutely fantastic looking dog. He has his own little quirks ( but doesent every dog) but needs more work than I am giving him at the moment. He wont be going to just any home and if I am not completely satisfied he wont be leaving here, it would help if you know Plummer Terrier owners in the area for ( North East) references .PM me if you are interested as I wont discuss any further publicly. Ted

  11. I have two options with my gear , I could put it away in the cupboard and leave lt for the odd day out or I could let someone else have the fun \i have and I decided the latter was the best. So it is HW 100 S 22, ( one year old , in good condition), a Yukon Sentinel 2.5 NV Scope ( fantastic), a Hawke Nighteye scope 6,5 - 20 x 50 , Illuminated reticles ( hardly used )A Deben tracer mill dot and a divers bottle which is in good condition but may need testing ( my mate charges it for me so its never been a problem. There we have it. I will try and get some picsup later for any one interested. I
  12. thanks for pm s folks. The gear will be on sale next Saturday and will be a bargain . I could keep it and put it in the cupboard but if some one can have half as much pleasure as i have then it would best to move it on.
  13. Hi folks. I am just writing this to let people know that as from next week end ( I have a major shooting job organised then and need gun) my rat hunting equipment will be going up for sale. I wont put too much info up on this post as its probs not the correct one.I first got interested in shooting rats because I was hunting the little buggers every weekend with my terriers. I enjoy the working with the dogs but if I am honest I prefer the gun , however as I got the dogs for life I have decided that I will sell the gear and pay more attention to the dogs who , if I am honest have been slightly
  14. Best of Luck on your new permission , Its amazin how things work out . Further to that though ... you just never know what one permission can lead to , all it takes is this guy to mention it in passing to another horse owner etc and bingo you have some more. Enjoy bud.
  15. A couple of years ago we were invited to use our terriers (Plummers) on a scrap yard / demolition yard/ skip hire company kind of thing. There was plenty of rats but because of the glass etc among the rubbish our dogs were coming home cut to ribbons etc and so we decided it wasnt safe enough for them and we explained to the company and we didnt go back. Sitting having a drink with my hunting partner and talking about our evening exploits with the NV and our air guns it suddenly dawned on us that the place we used our dogs on was ideal if not perfect for shooting in the dark. Anyhow on Tuesday
  16. Dillan, what is youre NV set up mate. That looks a smashing quality video , very good.
  17. Great story Phantom, enjoyed it. I luv killin the rats but if i am honest i am actually shit scared of them ( i have taught my shootin partner how to give mouth to mouth and the rest cos if a rat ever jumps on me i will collapse). We sometimes shoot a smsll holding with pigs and they will eat the rats if given the chance and to hear them fighting over a rat is incredible , put me ogg pork aswell mate, glad you enjoyed.
  18. now Foxhunter , hope you dont think i am being awkward here but I have rea\d a few of your posts and on a couple you stated that you missed a couple of foxes , however when you checked youre zero you decided that it was ok and that you probs just made a one off bad shot. I HAVE LOOKED AT THE PHOTO YOU POSTED WHERE YOU KILLED THE FOX CUB AND YOU CLAIMED THAT IT WAS 235 YARDS AWAY (sos about cap lock.) and I just wondered if there was someone near by and you had a "one off" shot that missed how can you be sure that the bullet ends up in a safe place, cheers
  19. Just started making my own wine , 4 galls of Plum and 6 pints of Blackberry with Elderberry to follow. Its gonna take 12 months to be ready.... hope I can wait , does any one here make their own, cheers Ted
  20. The mind is an amazing think ok. This incident that i wrote is really odd. ( quite frightening actually) . I have my own thoughts on it (i am very open minded) but as long as I live I will never state what those thoughts are on this forum , mainly cos peeps will think am nuts , and anyway if truth be known there is probs a very simple explanation, any way can anyone remember thae post made by the guy that felt something running circles around him while he was out shootong
  21. Just wondered if anyone else has had some weird experiences whilst out shooting at night. I read in a post somewhere on here about a guy out shooting and heard something running around him in circles but he couldnt see anything, I cant find the post but I am just gonna write something that happened to me last night. While shooting rats on a small holding ( that has only rabbits , hens , ducks and geese)a weird experience had my heart thumping out of my chest. I was looking through my night scope when I heard running footsteps coming directly for me from the side. This happened so fast that I
  22. thanks for replys guys. I have a W100 , and its a great gun but it just seems a bit heavy (mind you it has a NV scope attached). My son in law has a FX which is much lighter and i am considering a swap. Having said that I think first i will concentrate on my techniques with the W100 as IMO the guns are so different in as much as the W100 feels, looks, sounds ,and is the biz where as the FX feels like a toy. Mentioned it the son and he was very keen mmmmmmmm.
  23. i dont think i have read any reports about these guns on this forum, can anyone tell me if they are good or average or something else , cheers Ted
