  1. Thats the spirit mark, Let his natural ability shine through. As far as .177 and .22 are concerned, they both do the job, however in my experience over the years with both calibres, .177 is far better at extreme range for two reasons, 1, it holds fpe and velocity far better than .22. and 2, quarry tend not to hear the round coming at them untill its too late, unlike the much slower .22. that said it depends a lot on wind direction with the .22. Have you ever seen rabbits duck down or move at 60 yrds just after youve squeezed a shot off ? 5 times out of 10 its because they can hear it coming, t
  2. I have 3 hw90s, one in fac, the other is a 12 foot pounder, and one i bought for spare parts at the right price.A lot of people are wary of them because of the harsh recoil, that said, it is over in a split second, the lock time is twice as quick as your average pcp and physically quicker than a springer. if you dont use a damper mount for your scope, they will destroy them eventualy. Theoben themselves advocated the use of a damper mount, which is why they designed one for the use of. With a good pellet the consistency is second to none, with mine 7 shots over the chrono out of 10 being exac
  3. What is the thread diameter on your scopes eye bell, and if you use that camara you will need to support it on your stock, too much weight on the eyebell of your scope. you need to step up the thread sizes, 25mm male to male to whatever the thread size is on your objective bell (eye piece). phil

  6. Yes, It is your hammer springs grease just starting to break down, leave it alone as HW tend to over grease anyway. There is nothing wrong with your rifle my friend. As far as the belville spring is concerned, It is under immense pressure and does not move or twang ! When the rifle is fired you may experiance a sine wave effect, this is the shuttle (hammer) which is semi free floating, this can be interpreted sometimes as a noise, twang, as sometimes it can resonate in the trigger system itself depending on the weathers temp, cold means tighter components. But dont forget, your ear is very clo
  7. It looked like a one piece, is that so ? phil

  13. Hey kelvin, You say you are 6 foot 6, Well they dont realy get much bigger than a 97, but the tx stable of springers are no light weights either, The " try before you buy " is the way forward here mate, Dont be pushed into anything by the shop owner, you will know what is right for you instinctively. As to what is accurate, they all shoot as well as each other, but your right, .177 is what you need for target work, and if you feel like doing a bit of hunting, your well equipped. Try and get to a gun shop that has a range so you can try the rifles in live fire, remember, that first impression i

  16. the last 3 or 4 times ive been out ive taken the 97.. need to stop neglecting my 95 lol, its her turn next time lol.thanks mate, im loving my 97kt its so accurate, that was just a quick grouping with nearly numb hands in a wind aswell. come summer im hoping for 1 hole jagged groups . the rifle deffo outshoots me, but im getting there. i think the last 2 ingridients i need are better breathing technique and more consistent hold aswell. then i should get pellet on pellet. cheers again for the kind reply mate, SKoT Consistent hold is everything Skot, I'm trying not to sound like an old fart bu

  18. Its just a general chat that inevitably goes in many directions, If you think someone is interested in your goldstar, you need to pm them so you can enter into a dialogue about the sale of said rifle. But other than that, you are in the right place. atb Phil
  19. No its not cannyboy, its his son, he wants his dad to buy him a pistol, and the boy posts on here i guess, to raise a bit of interest in the hope his dad will buy him one. or thats how it seems. look at previous posts on subject. atb Phil
  20. Ahh the 35, That was my first HW many years ago. manufacturers have been trying to keep up ever since, it set the bench mark for triggers, accuracy, and was just a downright solid rifle, the first of its caliber. wish i had kept mine, dont you make the same mistake. Put a scope on it, its capable of so much more than just an open sighted ratter ! atb Phil
