Epic head shot on the second pigeon, And the rabbit ! atb phil

I use a veil and the rifle has non reflective cammo tape on, and I have put a fine mesh net over the end of my scope, Works a treat, but still have to be carefull about sudden movement. atb phil

Great shot ! veggies in beer, sounds good might give that one a go. atb phil

Not realy elliot, I lenghened the stroke to the max giveing an extra 1 and a half inches of swept volume over a normal fac, downside of that was slightly slower lock time, but once i had dropped the power down to 25 it seemed to settle down, ok i lost a bit of lock time, but the accuracy was fantastic. consistency was true to form at + or - 3 ft per sec, average is 900 with 14.3 accupell. All this was only possible by remodeling the gas ram, and in my opinion is marginally better than theobens own HE system. atb phil

Just seen the video evo, nice shooting, must say the huntsman is the best looking rifle in their whole range ! atb phil

You may have to use the bisleys and adjust to there curve if you cant find anything else geoff, When i got my 90 about 15 yrs ago, it was doing about 20 ftlb, but after a bit of fettling it was up to 27 ftlb, but it cruises at 25, I went from the bisleys to the accupells for the exact same reason that you are experiancing now, Hope you can find that "golden" pellet mate. atb phil

If you want what you pay for, Get the hw 100. Had mine almost six years now without a single hickup, still using one of the supplied mags, the other has never been used. you wont get that kind of endurance with a daystate, their mags have a limited life that seems to change from owner to owner and at 40 odd squid a pop, it soon racks up ! A friend of mine had the airwolf in both 12 fpe and fac, the fac popped its breech seal on its very first shot, went back to be fixed, 3 weeks later it came back under powerd and popped the breech again after 60 or 70 shots ! The 12 fpe version was way under

But it killed both rabbits ! Thers your stopping power right there, Dead rabbit, It is stopped x 2, pretty good stopping power i would say. atb phil

That old quote mat have been true years ago when air rifles "Were" low powered, when a .22 could and often did bounce off a crow at 30 yrds, and .177 used to be a bit less on the power stakes. But its different now, more power, same power for both calibers.I shot mainly .22 for 38 yrs but for the last 6 its been .177. I just prefer the speed, less holdover, and some one mentioned earlier that you can weave your shots a lot easier in the small gaps in the branches. no one has mentioned yet about power retention down range. Using a hw 100 in .177 and a hw 90 in .22 using 7.9 and 14.3 grn accupell

Good shooting and great vid ste, Only real thing to remember about .177 is you have to be more critical about where you place your shots, and the wind efects them slightly more than a .22. But your doing pretty good the way you are, So keep it up mate and i think you may prefer the quicker, flatter, .177 ! And remember, the aim points on your scope will be a lot tighter, easy to forget that when your used to the bigger curve of the .22, keep reminding yourself before you take the shot, second nature after a while. Good luck and more vids ! atb phil

That sounds like a plan barnze, dont give up. Did you mention that you have another perm ? atb phil

Why go down the heavy path when a good medium weight pellet could be just as good if not better ? my FAC 90 loves 14,3 accupels at around the 900 fps mark, 25 fpe. very accurate and the consistency is outstanding. you should give them a try, they may not be any good out of your barrel, but they could also be amazing ! atb phil

A Little Help Offered And Wanted...
hunter100t replied to Nashy1983's topic in General Airgun Discussion
On one of the farms i shoot on, i often help out round the place, de-horning calfs to ploughing a field or two or just flat rolling prior to drilling. When i first make contact with the landowners, face to face, I let them know that i will give them a days work now and again, this goes a long way to showing your integrity, and commitment to the job in hand and him. If you cant operate machinery, the farmer may teach you, or just be glad of some labour now and then. Its worked for me over the years and ive gained neighboring farms without even asking, they have asked me ! Farmers talk to each ot -
A Good 177 Hollow Point?
hunter100t replied to jandcguns's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
If every thing you shoot drops dead with round heads, then you have achieved your goal. why bother changing the recipe, but if you want a bit more thwack, try some match flat heads. atb phil -
Sorry to hear about your experience mawders, I was looking to buy a prosport myself, untill a couple of lads from my club mentioned the cocking lever problems. seems in thier efforts to keep weight down, they neglected to properly measure the load strengh that can be consistently put on the alloy parts in the leaver. Shoddy AA, very shoddy ! by rights they shoud do a re-call like the car manufacturers do, that would be the right thing to do. I realy want one of these rifles, but cant imagine having one with this badly engineered cocking lever and link ! unless i buy second hand, but like you,

Permanent Zeroing Target?
hunter100t replied to jimjam's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Be sure they are rats and not water voles jt, dodgy ground if they are voles. still an infestation with either, but one could carry repercussions if discovered. . atb phil -
Target aquisition was so much quicker with open sights, I remember i used to take rabbits right out to 40+ yrds headshot with my 35, eyes were better then though, probably still could with a bit of practice ( maybe a lot of practice lol ) might give it a whirl and see if i can still hit those match sticks at 30 yrds with a beesa ! atb phil

HMM, not a fan of .22 then, lol phil
