  1. Alan, aside from the fact we all use the parallax as a means of focus,It is a compensation device, this means if you are viewing your intended target at lets say 30 yrds, and your eye is exactly in the middle of the exit pupil window, but then you somehow move your head a little not quite getting a full picture, as long as the cross hair is on target you will hit the target on the cross hair. parallax adjustment, you see ? As long as you re focus at all distances before you take the shot, the parallax will iron out small mistakes with head allighnment as long as the cross hairs stay on target.
  2. Diana have been very much overlooked over the years ! once HWs biggest rival, Had the 52 many moons ago, wish i still had it though, it was very accurate allthough a little lopsided heavy. Traded it for a 77 but i allways missed it. You will have to do a proper review of the 56 for us to ponder on. atb phil
  3. The video footage is very good steve, dont knock it, sure you can always upgrade your cam, but this i you tube not the bbc. got the a and m cylinder on mine as well, sweet adition, 170 shots in .177, saved 1lb 2 oz (HW TAKE NOTE) carry it round all day, sling or not. Good pest control mate, keep it up. atb phil
  4. Ask yourself this, Which is the biggest seller, Why do people rave about them, Its because HW from its conception have built one of the finest hunting/ft rifles in the world, and have had NO reason to change its design. Yes it has a massive following for a very good reason, its pedigree, second to none, flawless operation, cycling the mag, etc, etc it just goes on. So if you want to own the rifle that will out shoot you and anybody you will ever know, It has to be the HW100, hands down. good luck young jedi atb phil
  5. The americans think shooting a 2 inch circle at 30 yrds is ok, what is yours like ? If it puts all of its pellets inside a 10 pence coin at 35 yrds, then it should be ok to hunt with up to that range. atb phil
  6. Its a very similar system , if not the same, As a tx200sr. atb phil
  7. The r 10 is a beautiful rifle, The HW is very good at its job, and to my mind has many more plus points than the r 10. .177 still goes through a roof, however, if you use a quality flat head at the distances you mentioned you will have no probs at all, or ,like someone mentioned earlier, make sure there is a beam or such like to stop it, then you can use any pellet you like, barn shooting even with an fac .177 using flat heads, is fine at the distances you need, just make sure of that back stop, and try and keep it under 1122 fps to avoid that ear splitting crack inside the confines of a barn
  8. Good shot daz, only way to go with a head shot. atb phil
  9. I ticked other, couldent tick two. If theres room in the freezer, rabbits and pigeon breast go in there, if theres not, then its bait or given to others that request it. Vermin control is what the farmers expect of me and i cant allways account for the no.s i take, so the foxe's get fed. Used to sell most of it, but there seems to be a lot of squeamish people out there these days ! atb phil

  14. I got one recently from A and M, The answer to your question is yes, get one, Shot count on mine the standard 100 has gone from 115 to 157-160 in .177 before it drops off the reg, consistency wise it does not change from before, mine is plus-minus 5 fps over 20 shots. Of coarse it depends on the pellet used, mine likes 7.9 accupells and they are deadly accurate out to 60 yrds. The man himself fitted the cylinder for me as A and M is just up the road from me, And what a nice bloke he is, he opened up on his day off to accommodate my needs as i needed one for that night on an all nighter.
