  1. I always wear "disruptive" dpm, with no probs what so ever. I have used other stuff but other than my guilly suit, no difference what so ever. The trick is, how you carry youself around your shoot, fieldcraft, proper fieldcraft, takes along time to learn, you cant just read a book and think "i can do that" its time served. but if you cover the basics its a start, and the rest will come in time, as long as you learn on the way. you can go out and buy the best so called cammo in the world, but unless you know what you are about, it matters not, and would likely be a failed or unsatisfying shoot
  2. Or the cheaper option, a can of lighter fluid from a fag shop ! Great job on the camo, mine is done too, it works well. hunting aint no fashion parade. atb phil
  3. Si, my only worry is this, sometimes you get a sticky knockdown, now i know there all checked before a comp but even so, you still get one or two, and im wondering if 9.4 would be enough to knock a "sticky" down ! At my own club its been known that rifles near the limit just about knock em down, but rifles way under ( 9 ft lb ) have trouble on occasion. just a thought..... atb phil
  4. Good job on it, I use the material tape, but i prefer the non reflective, very nice job though. atb phil
  5. Ive got some wicked pills cos of my back, I will bring a months supply !
  6. Been reading your post's about .177 at FAC level, my ticket gun does 1155 ft ps using 7.9s, and at 100yrds it groups a tad over half an inch, pretty flat 40 to 90 yrds, no tumbling, it can and does take rabbits at 120 yrds with little effect from a light breeze. I love this calibre, quick and very accurate, even at sub 12 ft lb i prefer it for much the same reasons. but at 23,4 ft lb the little .177 is fantastic and i would urge people to try it, you wont regret it ! atb phil
  7. Cheers mate, Proper HW Karbine, all my barrels for the 90 are exactly that lengh after a bit of experimenting, so i am thinking it should be ok on my fac 90 as well. Will we have time for a shoot john around the wedding ? we will see. atb phil
  8. No wouldent need cocking linkage or shoe, just the barrel, ,90 are the same weight 8.8 lb, think the 97 is the same but not sure. Good to meet you to mate and glad i did, lots in common, fettling with guns and all that. prob need a new pin thinking about it, new barrel will be tight. Keep on puncturing people mate ! atb phil Forgot to ask, What is the lengh of that barrel ?
  9. Ah, i see you got the 98 barrel, you said you would, it looks realy good wurz and a good cammo pattern to boot ! You know what this means dont you, it will be better than the 98 over all because of the weight and its pedigree. I fancy putting one of them barrels on my 90, thought of it for a while now, let me know how you get on with it weight wise. Great read mate and good photo's for a step by step how you did it. atb phil
