That's a good find of a picture. It does look like a quickset! On Brian brindeds website it says "so after some serious trial and error he developed the quickset long net". And I remember in the show him mentioning this as well.
-
Ideal thanks I'll have a search for him. Thanks for the replies.

Is he on here?
-
I think it was Brian Brinded after looking on his website. Thanks!

If I understood the father doing the demo in the ring he developed the quick set net. I don't know if it makes a difference but the first and last poles are white? Don't know if they all have that or it's just there nets.
-
Were you selling long nets as a father son combo? As I'm after a few more nets but have lost the card. The father was doing demonstrations in the ring. Thanks
-
I bought a long net in the midland game fair and want to buy more to fill the basket. But I've lost the card I was given with their details. They had a small stall just selling long nets a father and son company and the father was doing talks in the ring about ferreting and displays on setting up traditional and quick set long nets. Any info would be great as I want to buy more nets. Sorry about the lack of info. Thanks

I've put him back with his brother last night after a few minutes of rolling they settled down. By this evening I can do whatever I want to him again doesn't even turn his head to try. Thanks to everyone for the advice

Ah ok thanks. I'll try them back together tomorrow. See if he settles then. Thanks

I've had my hob for 6 months and he has been brilliant to handle. But the last month he's been trying me when I pick him up. But tonight he got really aggressive when I was cleaning out his cage. He's in a cage on his own due to being in season and as he's double the size of his brother was doing a bit of damage on the poor hobs head. Would this behaviour be down to being bored and lonely? I've nearly finished much bigger cages where they can have things to amuse themselves. And have a communal area for the winter when they are quieter. Any advice would be good thank you.

Webley Fx 2000 Problem
Rhys Williams replied to Rhys Williams's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Fixed the problem. Found a guide of how to strip down the firing assembly and found that the small pin that gets struck by the hammer to release air had come out and was stopping the bolt from going all the way in. Also for some reason the end cap was causing the housing around the bolt assembly to go tight and jam. Sorted them two things. Also I found a way of emptying the tank but dangerous and wouldn't recommend to ANYONE! Thanks for the advice -

Webley Fx 2000 Problem
Rhys Williams replied to Rhys Williams's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Yeah it did shoot. It may be to much air because it shows slightly over 200 bar. How can I let out some pressure? Thanks -
Hi I just bought a webley fx 2000 in.22 calibre. I've had around 50 shots and the gun worked great sighted in great with good grouping. I filled it last night ready to use tonight, but the bolt will cock back but not go all the way forward to lock down. If I hold it forward the gun will click but no air or anything. Pellet just stays in the barrel. The bolt seems like it's hitting against something but barrel is clear. Anyone got any ideas? Hope this makes sense thanks

Thanks will pick one up tomorrow

I've recently wired up a new battery pack because I'm intending on buying a new lamp (struggling between deben and lightforce) I have fitted it with a cigarette style socket but after reading a few forums I've read that they can overheat and burn. I have a cluson at the moment with a Jack socket I'm impressed with this. Can anyone recommend a connection I could use? Thanks

I've got some pigeon bouncers so ill try spray them before I next go out. Thanks

Had another go tonight same problems. So going to get more decoys and a flapper get some more movement in my pattern. Will the full bodied crows need wings on hangers? Also Im using the ghost camo and I'm thinking the backdrop isn't quite dark enough so they can see my shape behind it. No luck on uploading pics

Had a call off a farmer today saying that a freshly baled field was covered in crows. So straight after work I was there and he wasn't lying, three fields were covered. So I set up quickly, the crows only moved to the next field so started coming into the pattern well. I shot one and they all seemed to disappear, a couple came back but weren't so keen to come in. I lifted the one I shot but they still didn't come back. I will try and upload pictures of my set up so people can comment. Only thing I can think of is that they were suspicious because a field that was covered in crow's now only had

A FEW FACTS ABOUT WORMERS
Rhys Williams replied to skycat's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
what are the symptoms for lung worm and heart worm? are they different to symptoms of common worms? thanks great info skycat -
we didn't have a heated argument everyone went home happy, as was said some good banter is always good. i shoot too so as was mentioned a choice is good so i'm not knocking his way at all. maybe in the future when i have an FAC i will shoot with a rifle too. great to hear different opinions.

i mentioned to a friends boyfriend a few weeks ago that i go lamping rabbits with the dog which then got us talking about hunting as i learned that he shoots too.his opinion was that hunting with dogs was not "proper" hunting, so i went on to ask is shooting a rabbit at 100 yds with a gun more natural than a dog? And shooting at this distance cancels out a lot of the skill of stalking and releasing the dog at the right time. his response to this was that it requires more skill to shoot a rabbit. He then went on to say that he was brought up thinking that a shotgun should not be used to hun

Starlings In Wales
Rhys Williams replied to Rhys Williams's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
All i can do now is tell the farmers that without a licence i cannot do anything with the birds. They will have to look for alternatives and find other ways to stop then getting at the feed. -
