To Regulate Or Not To Regulate?
bhodge replied to JMDorset's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I was considering regulating my .177 S200, just to try and get more shots out if each charge. Today I ran a shot string just to see what the gun is capable of. I was quite happy with the results. I filled the gun to 190bar and continued shooting until the ft/sec dropped right off, the results are shown in the attached graph. The 60th shot was was 729ft/sec, on refilling the S200 I found it still had approx 110bar in the tank. attachment.php -
I've had a few bits from Will, including one of his tuning kits. It was for an HW57 (not the most popular of guns!). The kit changed the whole characteristics of the gun. Highly recommended in my opinion.

The Marmite Gun Hw57 Tune Up
bhodge replied to mattybugeye's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Done a good job mate. I had a '57 for a while last summer, they're good guns but they've got a bad rep. Mainly due to rumours / hearsay passed on by people who've never owned one! Would I have another - yes, no problem. -
Hi mate and welcome to the forum.

Do You Buy An Air Rifle With Your Head Or You Heart.do You Buy
bhodge replied to VWman's topic in General Airgun Discussion
It's got a very bad press (totally unjustified), but the HW57 is very lightweight for an underlever Springer. Sells for around £270 New, £170 second hand. I had one, excellent guns. -
Do You Buy An Air Rifle With Your Head Or You Heart.do You Buy
bhodge replied to VWman's topic in General Airgun Discussion
At the moment I have three guns. Two of them are models of guns I've owned previously. I had a mk3 TX200 .177 & a mk3 S200 .22 a couple of years ago, for various reasons I sold the pair of them. They were both 'heart' purchases. It didn't take long before my head said "why did you sell them?". So I started to look to replace them, last September a mk2 TX200hc .22 became available, followed in October by a mk3 S200 in .177....I bought both of them. These were most definitely 'head' purchases. My third gun was a 'head' purchase - a .177 HW97kt in .177. After buying it I wasn't really hap -
Don't take this as a recommendation, but.... A decent 'cheap-end' PCP, Air Arms S200 or BSA Ultra. You should be able to get a near mint condition gun plus scope for £300-350. Add on charging gear (bottle or hand pump) £100-150. Both are excellent guns, limited number of shots per charge is their Achilles heel. Both are worth consideration...as regards which calibre, well that's far too controversial for me to mention! (Whichever floats your boat really mate).

Hi Mr vwman, Personal opinion here.... The BSA AIRSPORTER is a gun that many people used in their early years - either that or a Meteor or a Webley! As such they have fond memories of using that gun and yearn to relive those earlier years and own another. BUT, things have changed, times have moved on. As I said - just my opinion - there can be no comparison between the guns of yesteryear and those of today. In every aspect today's are simply better. If the HW97 is a bit heavy, then consider the HW57 for instance. A nice lightweight underlever (it's got a poor reputation in some circles, but to

Thanks for the welcome guys.

As already mentioned Wonky Donky is a guy called Dave Price. You won't find him on bbs anymore, more likely to be on 'airgunforum'. I can recommend his work, I fitted one of his spring service kits to my HW97kt just last weekend. I removed a v-mach spring & replaced it with Dave's. The v-mach was just too snappy for me. For the price (39.95 posted) you can't go wrong. I have his contact info so should anyone require it then just give me a nudge...

Hi guy's, my name is Brian, I live in North East Wales. I joined the forum some time ago but never really got involved... I have however frequented other forums so you might have bumped into my name there. Have only been shooting for three years and have already owned around 20 airguns - not all at the same time may I add! I currently own an Air Arms S200 .177 multi-shot, a Mk2 TX200hc .22 and (most recently) a Weihrauch HW97kt in .177. I now hope to make up for lost time and get involved in some of the topics on your forum. atb, bhodge.

Might be worth asking the question on the Falcon owners forum, they're generally a very helpful bunch.

I shoot an S200, RWS super domes work well in that, eight shot groups in a 5p silhouette from 25yds. But I acknowledge that AA fields have got quite a reputation for being the best....a bit pricey for me though I can get the super domes for £8.40 locally, the AA's are a bit more.

So much safer not to have a pellet in the breech... I don't hunt, I shoot FT & targets in general. Its generally accepted that you DON'T have a pellet in the breech unless you're intending to shoot, discharging the weapon is the only safe method of de-cocking. Just my opinion of course!!

Hi, I'm new to this site and new to the S200...I only bought it last week. Single shot only, at the moment I have no need of the multishot feature, but you never know I might change my mind at some point in time. As regards no safety catch, well my previous PCP was a Falcon FN19 which was another without a safety catch. I tended not to load that until I wanted to shoot, so the same goes for the Air Arms S200. A nice little, lightweight gun.

Hi Craig, no mate I limit my shooting to Field targets & bits of cardboard with circles on 'em... Not sure whether or not I could pull the trigger if I had a critter in my crosshairs! I've got a couple of mates that go after rabbits and they've invited me along a few times, but so far I've resisted the urge. But you never know, one day I might pluck up the courage to give it a try.

Hi everyone, just a brief note to introduce myself. My name is Brian and I live in the town of Buckley, in Flintshire North Wales. I've been shooting airguns since April of last year, and to be honest I don't seem to be able to hang onto them for very long. Since April I've owned and (and sold!) a Crosman Nitro Venom rifle, Weihrauch HW45 & Benjamin EB20 pistols, and a Falcon FN19 rifle. Each of them was a good gun in their own right, BUT just not right for me! At the moment I shoot an Air Arms TX200 in .177 & an Air Arms S200 in .22. These two are going to be keepers! I'm looking fo
