I was considering regulating my .177 S200, just to try and get more shots out if each charge. Today I ran a shot string just to see what the gun is capable of. I was quite happy with the results. I filled the gun to 190bar and continued shooting until the ft/sec dropped right off, the results are shown in the attached graph. The 60th shot was was 729ft/sec, on refilling the S200 I found it still had approx 110bar in the tank. attachment.php

I've had a few bits from Will, including one of his tuning kits. It was for an HW57 (not the most popular of guns!). The kit changed the whole characteristics of the gun. Highly recommended in my opinion.

Done a good job mate. I had a '57 for a while last summer, they're good guns but they've got a bad rep. Mainly due to rumours / hearsay passed on by people who've never owned one! Would I have another - yes, no problem.

It's got a very bad press (totally unjustified), but the HW57 is very lightweight for an underlever Springer. Sells for around £270 New, £170 second hand. I had one, excellent guns.

At the moment I have three guns. Two of them are models of guns I've owned previously. I had a mk3 TX200 .177 & a mk3 S200 .22 a couple of years ago, for various reasons I sold the pair of them. They were both 'heart' purchases. It didn't take long before my head said "why did you sell them?". So I started to look to replace them, last September a mk2 TX200hc .22 became available, followed in October by a mk3 S200 in .177....I bought both of them. Don't take this as a recommendation, but.... A decent 'cheap-end' PCP, Air Arms S200 or BSA Ultra. You should be able to get a near mint condition gun plus scope for £300-350. Add on charging gear (bottle or hand pump) £100-150. Both are excellent guns, limited number of shots per charge is their Achilles heel. Both are worth consideration...as regards which calibre, well that's far too controversial for me to mention! (Whichever floats your boat really mate).

Hi Mr vwman, Personal opinion here.... The BSA AIRSPORTER is a gun that many people used in their early years - either that or a Meteor or a Webley! As such they have fond memories of using that gun and yearn to relive those earlier years and own another. BUT, things have changed, times have moved on. As I said - just my opinion - there can be no comparison between the guns of yesteryear and those of today. In every aspect today's are simply better. As already mentioned Wonky Donky is a guy called Dave Price. You won't find him on bbs anymore, more likely to be on 'airgunforum'. I can recommend his work, I fitted one of his spring service kits to my HW97kt just last weekend. I removed a v-mach spring & replaced it with Dave's. The v-mach was just too snappy for me. For the price (39.95 posted) you can't go wrong. I have his contact info so should anyone require it then just give me a nudge...

Hi guy's, my name is Brian, I live in North East Wales. I joined the forum some time ago but never really got involved... I have however frequented other forums so you might have bumped into my name there. Have only been shooting for three years and have already owned around 20 airguns - not all at the same time may I add! I currently own an Air Arms S200 .177 multi-shot, a Mk2 TX200hc .22 and (most recently) a Weihrauch HW97kt in .177.
