Just let him be a pup for now. Socialise him, get him used to travelling in car, etc. Walking with jack is fine but take him out on his own sometimes just so he's confident on his own too. You don't want to overwalk him either as you could stunt him that way, at 18wks he should still be carrying a bit puppy fat to allow him to grow. I wouldn't worry about quarry until he's nearer 10-12months plus but even then depends on the dog, different dogs mature at different rates.

Estimated to have slept with 355,000 men between them?! I'm surprised they can still walk! Boke Hang on.... to have slept with that many between them they'd have to have slept with maybe a dozen guys a day each every day of theyre life's??? Perhaps I'm thinking about this too much, must be a mis-print....

jennym replied to jennym's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Aye it was a HW95 that I was looking at last night. I'll prob go through a shop and get rifle and scope together, get me started. I'm still looking through the ones suggested on here though. Glad I asked though as its given me a starting point Prob won't be my last question though lol Cheers guys -

Ah right never clicked onto part about working away from home. Hmm paycut and better hours it is then Can live on rabbits To be honest I went from full time to part time a few years ago for health reasons, basically I worked in high pressure job and was about to crack up and bizarrely although I've a lot less money coming in I'm not any less skint as I've no commuting or other costs associated with working in big lights. I do admittedly have no social life lol but I do have 5 dogs, 3 ferrets and am a lot sane-er

Scotland West Lothian Lurcher & Terrier Club
jennym replied to RossM's topic in Gamefairs, Meet Up's and Events
I hope to get along to this. I've copied it across to the Scottish Working Terrier and Lurcher Shows page on Faceache as well, hope thats OK. Hopefully drum up some more entries -
What about getting a slightly older dog to do away with rather than a pup? As you said pup might not be best plan if there won't be someone around enough to bring it on in formative months but seems a shame that you just don't have a dog at all? I appreciate that you'd need to be careful about not getting someone elses problem but some of the best dogs I've had have come to me at 10months-year, a gamble but has paid off. An adult dog is manageable around a full time job, as others say just means some sleep deprivation to keep it well exercised?

I was on Guntrader website last night having a look, I've looked on there before when I've been looking at shotguns to get an idea of what they are making. Think I'm going to save a bit more, maybe £350.00 mark give me a bit more choice. Thanks for replies guys -
Could be whippet crossed with terrier, maybe border terrier? Lovely looking wee dog though

Oils/supplements For Joints And Coat (Pics Of Pup Included)
jennym replied to zandy01's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
The amount of fish and tripe you are feeding I wouldn't bother putting anything additional in at moment. I've just started my 2 older gun dogs (lab and cocker) on a broad spectrum joint supplement, they're 6 and 9, this is just preventative. -
Hi guys and gals, Looking for some advice as above. Thinking about getting an air rifle for mooching about on permission, powerful enough for shooting rats and rabbits. Not looking to spend massive amount of cash but wondering if you guys can give me any recommendations of brands I should be looking at. In my teens I used to ratch about with an air rifle, can't remember the kind but it weighed a ton and was kind you cocked by breaking it and drawing barrel round and cranking it. It didn't have any added scopes or anything. I've got SGC and use 12G Lincoln. Quite fancied putting

He's been Tangoed! Wow, really unusual, love it Going by the attached from American Ferret Association website (gotta love Google!), I'd say Cinnamin? Cinnamon Cinnamons will display a strong reddish cast to the guard hairs. A noticeable color difference exists between Cinnamons and Champagnes; Cinnamons are not as common as Champagnes. Guard Hairs rich light reddish brown Undercoatpreferred is a golden hue, but a white is acceptable Eyeslight to dark burgundy Nose preferred is brick colored, beige/pink with light brown or brick 'T' outline. Pink is allowed but not

I like the look of saluki through a lurcher, not a cross I've ever had though. the black and tan looks smashing though. My last bitch was collie/grey and current one is pointer/grey/beardie. Have to say the pointer element isn't something I'd of immediately gone for but its shaping up to be cracking cross. Anyway I digress, I have a soft spot for black/tan's, my old bitch Brack was that colour.

Do captive bolts need to go on a Firearms Certificate?

To be honest hobs can be more cuddly than jills. The jills are very quick, like running about. Tell your misses to have a look at some of the american ferret websites, they love them over there, more popular than dogs, they dress them up and everything lol. My mum bought mine harnesses and used to walk them up the farm road, they loved it. If you are keeping your ferrets inside, there's no reason why your good lady cannae let them out in living room let them run about when your watching tv and then you take them out ferreting the next day. Ferrets are like wee dogs, great wee thing

To be honest if you are on target to hit something you are on target, only takes one pellet after all Don't get too bogged down with loads and shot size, well within reason
