  1. Good post. I do puppy jabs and then first year booster then stop. Right or wrong thats what I do but I have looked into it. However I am prepared to be proven wrong if someone can tell me that later boosters are beneficial to the dog and not just the vet! My first lurcher was a pup that my mum picked up dumped in an urban park whilst she was working as a dog warden. Bracken was bad with Parvo, bloody shame. She was hooked up to a drip and made comfortable but vet didn't hold out much hope, my mum called back in morning fully expecting to be told she'd passed away but needed to call to
  2. If you have a few dogs you would best to put in for your ticket from Environmental Health allows you to buy tripe, etc directly from slaughterhouses, dunno if you have that over the water. My boyfriend and I have 13 dogs between us so thats cheapest for us. If you have less dogs then the kind of place you are looking at seems best plan but that specific site seems a little dear. We use Durham Animal Feeds down here as well, have a butchers (like the pun!) and that will maybe give you a comparison but I would shop around see what deals you can get All the best J

Hope his next sh1te is a hedgehog backwards, see how that suits him for putting wildlife first. Fcuking waste of oxygen, kind of prick I'd never grow tired of smacking with a concrete crusted shovel! Sorry in a bit of ranting mood lol. Malt hope your sister is doing OK and all the best for future Jenny How are you doing Jenny? All good I hope It always happens to the nice ones, so they

  9. Thats why I don't want him to open his mouth Nah just messing, I know completely what you mean. Infact I'd prob leave boyf at home and take the dog and a book to pub
  10. Channing Tatum, and not for the chat! He doesn't even have to open his mouth, YUM! lol
  11. I use Bed Excel, its cardboard squares all year round.
  12. I use Otodex on my dogs, just googled it and says its OK for cats as well so not sure if would be OK for ferrets. Either that or olive oil, couple of drops?
  13. I use Kuracho on my lurchers and gundogs before and after they work, spray in on them or my hands if I have a dog that doesn't like stuff being sprayed on them and then use it as a muscle rub, the way my mum and dad used to rub the greyhounds before and after they ran. I use it before to warm the dogs muscles up and after before I travel home, dogs like it, does muscles no harm and good way of checking for injuries. I half think that it helps keep ticks off the gundogs on the heather as well, they never seem to have as many on them if I Kuracho them. I personally like the smell of it,
  14. Love the pic of the hare and the terrier sitting side by side facing away from camera. Love hares, beautiful creatures

  16. Don't want to burst your bubble but no that's not the one,I'm on about where gem posted a photo of one up. Is it not the right thread as the pic is on it as a link?! I've just copied it over?
  17. http://www.lasthope....May-03-2013.jpg This is the pic of one from the older thread http://www.thehuntin...inter-x-collie/ Looks useful looking dog? I agree that it depends on the parent stock as well as I've seen some bad pointer x lab as well as good.
  18. has an extremely naughty cocker spaniel. Was in a bad mood so put him on the lead as thats not the time for rebuking.

  19. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/292821-pointer-x-collie/ Do I get a prize for finding it??! Well assuming the link works lol Edited to say link works, my smugness knows no bounds (so need to get out more lol)
  20. Brilliant news, glad she's OK
  21. Didn't know that collies could point game, be interesting to see how the cross works out, keep us posted
  22. Hi Chancer, I've PM'd you. Jenny
  23. What was the collie pointer being used for, i.e beating? or walked up? I was at a shoot a few years ago and a gun had 2 collie spaniel crosses, he swore by them, they were quite strange looking but seemed to do the job. I'm not convinced by the plan of using collie instead of lab to cross with the pointer? What would the collie bring into the cross that a lab wouldn't? I'm interested to hear more but that's just my tuppence worth. Coincidently my lurcher is pointer x greyhound x collie x greyhound and I think its a great cross. What I mean though is that the collie is a tried and teste
  24. Physically I think with a smaller cross you can start younger as long as you don't go mental. My lad (14months in profile pic) is now 17months and only just stopped growing, he's good 28"tts, he's got pointer through him which I think is reason for taking longer to mature. Mentally you have to be careful as well, that lad of mine is still big daft pup in a lot of ways. I take him out sometimes, give him couple of chases then call it a day. But then my OH's bitch is a lot smaller, whippet cross and at 8months she was at stage my lad was at at 14months. Depends on the dog.
