  1. Nikon Buckmaster 4-12 x 50 side focus, camera quality optics, mint condition boxed £200 Compact mini handheld NV monocular £ Martin
  2. I was depression free until i dealt with the firearms dept
  3. In brief, NV's primary role is to allow you to see in darkness (obv.) in order to do this the unit (in your case Gen1) gathers all the available ambient light through the image intensifier, too much light or over exposure will damage or render the tube unusable (commonly known as 'blowing it) you have a dedicated unit which can only be used at night, there are advanced, military spec units on the civilian market which alow you to switch from night to day but you'll need a fairly decent budget. Martin
  4. Vixen and two cubs ...no sign of the Dog

  6. Bump for a top piece of glass
  7. Thanks lads...Sam i ruled caging out because of cost to the client, time, and the fact that i'd probably get a call at 4am to rerieve a yapping distressed animal (have to be a bit careful with shifting foxes witgh terriers i'm sure you know why ) 'The One' i know the programme you mean although i didn't see it, obviously safety is paramount and if there is any chance of richochet than caging is pretty much the only option...'Kate' incidentally why would you pick the dog first?.... many thanks for your views Martin
  8. Hi and thankyou....considered the options available and i think the Sako using Winchester subs fired from an upstairs window at roughly 45 (angle) into the lawn should be fine.
  9. ..everyone works differently and i'm just interested to see how other people would go about things...lets say you've been given a fox job in town and a dog, vixen and cubs are living in the small back garden of a house under some decking.. having pre baited for several nights and got them used to coming right out onto the lawn in what order would you dispatch them.. Martin

  13. Thankyou... is there a closed season for wigeon? i've tried doing a search but not much has come up Martin
  14. Hi to all, can anyone advise on the best or most effective method of controlling wigeon on a racecourse? Thanks in advance Martin
  15. What sort of bait do you use then Martin? Well many successful baits have been mentioned here (all of which i've used at some point) but for this job i used snickers bars, particle baits (cherios) and a few scattered broken biscuits to get their attention on the lawn ..... the snickers bars i split so they got the peanut/caramel aroma then i tethered these to the traps so they coudn't be 'stolen' .. in addition i threaded 'cherios' onto the wire trigger on the magnums (this works really well as they have to pull and tug at the trigger) for the shooting either a lump of snickers that
  16. I've just had a similar problem...so while the occupants of the house went away for a few days i had a purge.. by baiting the rear garden and shooting and using fens and magnums (ten in total) Martin
