WHERE ARE ARE THE BEST HARES (OBVIOUSLY PRE BAN)
tyson replied to tyson's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
yeah mate like that bouncy way with ears up . like they ready to be chucked in a pot an boiled ive never seen many fen dogs do it on small ground , just because the way they run , but i have seen a couple do it , but then thats why they were masterpieces but its hard to find a dog thats got it all , speed , agility , staying power ,brains and last but not least a deadly mouth cos at the end of the day if they dont got a good mouth they dont catch the hare yes ran there mate , its because they are poky little fields with bad fences and hedges but they not a bad hare , more ge -
OK GUYS another topic for you lot to consider , whats the best way for keeping a dog in tip top condition , ive read a post on people walking em behind cars, running after lures or just working em hard ...but anyone ever tried swimming??? its great for dogs that have injured toes or muscles or that are just overweight.. so it really lets you keep on top of a dog even when they have minor injuries , its also great for rehabillitation or in english overcoming an injury

WHERE ARE ARE THE BEST HARES (OBVIOUSLY PRE BAN)
tyson replied to tyson's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
i mean by good is that some hares are soft and 'sit up' for the dogs even if you give em a 100yd slip they still sit up , which results in a easy kill , this does not really test a dog , but some hares go at 110% start till finish and give the dog a good grueller of a course , these races let you see what the dogs made of , obviously hares are softer this time of year but all the same not all dogs can catch a summer hare let alone a winter hare , thats when the fun begins. i know lads with dogs who run continuously through summer and really rate their dogs , but winter comes and they cant ev -
too much hassle for me , easier to give a steady walk behind a car up a quiet track for a couple of mile , and nowt beats a good gallop for em in a big field or beach somewhere

WHERE ARE ARE THE BEST HARES (OBVIOUSLY PRE BAN)
tyson replied to tyson's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
there used to be a coursing event held at Annan , in SW Scotland , it was held twice a year for years , but my god can the little feckers run there, not the giggest of fields but if you get a good run of a couple of fields , they sort the pups from the dogs cos they can there , but i agree that summer hares should be left cos of them being full of young , alltough i have seen some young leverets spoil many a good dog -
give her 10ml of Metatone twice a day every day for 2 weeks , its a build up tonic you get it from the chemist , that will help , if not get a Vitamin B12 shot from a farm supplies store or the vet

i got a little saluki bitch ...had the same problem so i gave her a B12 SHOT , added metetone to her diet for a week now she looks like a different bitch , i also noticed your dog is lacking good oils like OMEGA 3 FROM ITS DIET TRY GIVING IT OILY FISH OR AN OMEGA 3 SUPPLEMENT

yeaqh mate bone radial works a treat , all my pals use it on there dogs , it will help calcify the damaged area and make the ligaments stronger, also to keep on top of the dogs fitness the flow of blood circulation alsoaids recovery so dont just lay him up , try swimming i recommend it for anydog
-
try vet wrap . its used foe wrapping horses legs like when you see dressage shows and they got different colored front legs , its good for sore stoppers too, i think they do one for tails , its narrower than standard vetwrap ,.get it from farm/equestrian supplies stores , my mates got a bitch and shes 110% tip top condition but the bitchs tail end is always sore n bleed cos she waggs it like mad so nowt you can do but keep it covered , oh and cut n heal is great for helping it heal
-
Get her a B12 syringe from the local farm/equestrian supplies store and then get a bottle of Metatone from the chemist and give her some of that also from your diet chart she looks to be lacking in OMEGA 3 OIL or oily fish
