  1. I can recommend the air arms s410/s510 variants extremely accurate and reliable very nice to shoot that's the one I would go for, the hw100 is also excellent and stupidly accurate but a bit on the heavy side just depends what you like but might be out of your budget , bsa ultra is a cracking little gun nice compact light and very accurate but shot count is not great around 40 per fill ok for hunting but for plinking or target shooting can get tiresome filling up all the time , you will not be disappointed with any of these rifles I would suggest try and have a shoot or shoulder them and get wh
  2. go for the s510 mate I have one and it's proper accurate nice to shoot the magazine and side lever are a joy to use only down side is there's no anti double load feature like the hw100 , is very reliable not had any real issues with mine and don't worry about it not being regulated it doesn't need one and if your technically minded easy to work on yourself , I have never had a shot with the r10 so can't really comment on how it shoots , have shot a friends ultra se which I believe is the same action and mag but he has had issues with the mag , the air arms mag system I would say is much bett
  3. aye up like I said great set of lads a red beck , glad to hear it's all sorted shergar
  4. like moxy says stick with the aa field
  5. second that with the blue pipe great for a bit of ratting but don't forget you bicycle clips just encase you miss , you wouldn't want any unwelcome trouser company would you
  6. great set of lads there at red beck , soon be sorted and back as good as new , I only go down there once in a while as it a good 40 min drive from me. that's why I think it's always good to have a spring gun as a back up , nowt worse than a good weekend wasted because of a breakdown . let us know what they find shergar
  7. sounds like the firing pot come loose , don't worry mate it will be fixable , just a pain when it's out of commission . keep us posted on what you find
  8. the depinger if it has one I think is a fairly tight fit in the cylinder would not think it would rattle but I could be wrong , what type of rattle is it rex I mean is it a metal against metal type of rattle ?
  9. don't know maybe just worked loose with use , if it is the pot there's a little dimple on it where the grub screw seats and the valve spring might be loose in the cylinder too don't lose it , download the user manual there's exploded diagrams which explain things better , once back together get the power checked to make sure nothing has altered
  10. I would still empty it of air and take a look , could be the firing pot come loose it's held in place with a grub screw, if it's that not really sure why it's still firing as it holds the valve and spring in place, could be the air pressure holding it in , it's an easy fix if your technically minded and while you have her in bits change the seals
  11. does it hold it's air , the only thing that I thinks in the cylinder is the firing pot assembly or the part of the filling valve , unless it's fitted with a reg , the only way to be sure is to empty it of air first and then unscrew the end and have a look , you can download owners manual with exploded diagrams off the AA web site, if not confident in doing this take it to a gunsmith.
  12. second what rez said . listen to what these guys say it's good advice , get a 99 you won't regret it shergar
  13. to find the sweet spot I think you really need a coronagraph to be really accurate , I am a bit more agricultural and don't own one but from the bit of plinking I have done I just fill to 190 bar and from there get about 30 good shots , lets just say I don't miss much as long as I keep my end of the bargain the gun does what it does and the bunnies and pigeons keep going down, but your gun could differ depends on what pellets and power output is it could be different to mine. shergar
  14. have a look on gun trader , there a nice walnut one with scopes and moderator for £795 shergar
  15. the end of the barrel has a female thread so I have the air arms moderator with the male thread on it so if you want to use another mod you may need an adaptor to make it fit. I also invested in a 12L dive bottle as the fac are very air hungry surprising how quick you get through it. I would try and get a good second hand one like I did , I got a full set up with scope and moderator gun bag etc for the same money as a new gun alone and only 18 month old still looks like new. try as many different pellets as you can I first tried bisley magnums and they don't group in mine and did n
  16. aye up I have one and find it extremely accurate, reliable and nice to shoot side lever is nice and smooth magazine indexing is great , getting one hole groups @ 50yrds and out to 70yrds can get 20p sized groups with jsb exact 18 grain pellets in 5.52, it don't half give bunny's a right thwacking my longest shot 85yrd head shot rabbit pellet went straight through so having a good backstop is very important , I would get a good second hand one as if you buy new you lose too much money as the re sale value of fac air is not as much as 12 ft lbs rifle as demand is far less. now for the d
  17. aye up welcome aboard there fella when you say bsa XL do you mean the lightning if so don't bother they are shite, if you want a decent spring gun get a hw 95, the bsa pcp,s are ok the ultra se is a great little rifle if you want to go down that route but I would get it in .177 same with the 95. if they don't have em in stock get them to order it in for you . shergar
  18. aye up out of those three I would go for the air arms as I have one myself and is very accurate and reliable , but why limit your self to them what about the hw 100 or the bsa ultra both very good , I would steer clear of the regal I believe some lads on this forum have had issues with them. shergar
  19. I do the same , put garden canes every 10yrds but I like the idea of the reflective tape going to try that next time out .
  20. you could also use a laser for range finding at night, watch one of si pittaways videos vermin hunters tv on youtube he can explain it better than I can. for some reason it won't let me copy and paste the link . shergar
  21. don't think there's out wrong , same thing with my home brew night vision where the range wheel on the scope don't match up with the actual range , could be something to do with magnification of the lens on the camera as long as the zero stays the same and you get a clear image don't worry about it. shergar
  22. aye up pianoman come and live near me in gods country I am lucky that my neighbours also are into shooting , I rent a large paddock out the back of my house which backs onto farm land , I could break out the 12 gauge and clay trap if I wanted and start banging away and my neighbours would probably come and join in. shergar
  23. may be heard nowt because that clown lived in Birmingham area
  24. a perm I go to regularly throws up a ginger , seen a family of gingers last night waiting for them to get to pot size and will see if they taste any different
