Not everyone where I work who keep an eye on traps feel comfortable dispatching rabbits with there bare hands so to speak and like James says there's no way I am sticking my hand into a cage trap with a angry rat inside . Caught a stoat in one the other day and that was bad enough trying to get that nasty little shite out.
the one I use at work is a Crossman 2240 think it was around £ use hollow points ( right way round) head shot at very close range have never needed a follow up shot to finish off , keep a note of how many shots you have had as there's no pressure gauge
At work use a crossman co2 pistol in .22 for despatching rabbits caught in cage traps . But would put the pellet in the right way round use hollow points found it does a good job at really close range
And quite a bit smaller . After watching the guy from south Africa on you tube comparing the q-Tec to the tx 585 mods the q-Tec looks a lot larger and a bit longer and the last thing the extra fac needs is to be LONGER .
At what range are you shooting . On my s510 @40 yards notice no real difference but at range I do think it groups tighter with the moderator on . Maybe the calibre specific mod scrubs some velocity off . Even though it's shooting 10 inches low is it still consistent?
I agree with James , on one of my posh garden permissions which was over run with rabbits I managed to shoot four in very quick succession before the rest of them figured out what was happening and buggered off I Don't think a slightly quieter moderator would of made any difference they still didn't know where the danger was coming from. Save your brass and stick with what you have.
using the tx585 on my s510 find it very quiet , I won't be upgrading just to get a couple of db quieter , I bet with the naked ear you won't be able to hear much difference and at 30yrds probably make no difference , unless I can try one and find out it's a lot better then I would probably get one .
What's your budget fella. If you want a pcp you won't go far wrong with a bsa ultra in .177
Springer go for hw 95 .177
Top it with a hawke 3/9/50 milldot scope something like that.

Don't bother with the walther r8 get something tryed and tested for a bit more money get yourself a bsa ultra se in .177 cracking little gun nice and light very pointable and stupidly accurate . You won't regret it

Whatever you do don't get a lightning
keep knocking on doors fella , like the lads say try golf courses , farms , plant nursery's and big private houses etc , first thing I would do is get some sort of shooting insurance like joining BASC or some other organisation like that .
whatever you do don't get a lightning there shite
bsa ultra is a much better option , any calibre will do the job doesn't matter if it's .177 .22 or .25 when you hit them in the head there dead .
I would go for the .177, in 12 fpe I think is the more versatile calibre if your quarry situation changes if you know what I mean.
but if you want a springer you won't go far wrong with a hw 95
