I went out the other day to check zero & as I was putting out my targets at 50 yards I found an old battery in my pocket, perfect I thought for a confirmatory shot at the end. I was using Eley subs at the time. I dug the round out after an that is the cavity it left.

I've got a mate who owns a lake in France, cracking bloke and he has learned then hard way a few times. I'm sure he will be happy to discuss things with you if required? Here is his website www.jurassica2.com

Good shooting mate, looks like your eye is in:-)

Managed a few more hours today, a couple fell where I couldn't retrieve them but this is what I could retrieve so the farmer is happy and I'm enjoying the sport.

I've got a .22 S410K, got it new about 9 years ago, it's never missed a beat and still puts pellet on pellet. I use AA field, they seem to suit the barrel better but in the tins I have bought there have been quite a few with bent skirts. I've not handled many other new air rifles but I'm sure others will be ale to give more advice on different makes however I used to have a HW80 many moons ago and that was great, don't think you can go far wrong with anything with the weihrauch name on it.

Google it for more info but as its Surefire you can be sure of the quality. Looking for £100 which includes recorded first class delivery. Any questions please ask, cheers

First Of This Year Hopefully Not The Last.

Good shooting mate, but what angle was he for you to get that shot? Swinging upside down by his tail? Lol. That's what I class as totally making sure the bugger is dead, lol. -
The one thing that I have found more useful than I thought I would is a laser rangefinder. I always guess the distance, then laser it, find out I'm usually wrong by 5-10 yards so adjust my POA and bingo, one dead quarry (well usually, lol) Got the usual as well depending on what I'm doing and where I'm going.

Cheers for the responses guys, I went out this evening with my lamp just for a look see, managed to check out some fields that the farmer lets out for horses, saw about 15-20 bunnies on them:-) think ill wait a month or so before tackling them though, give em chance to breed a bit:-) I reckon the golf course I have permission on will keep me busy as well as the rats, pigeon, doves, squirrels and crows that inhabit the farm:-)

Pm sent mate

Cheers guys, yeah the rats are a fairly big size here, the farmer is well pleased as he says the big ones don't get touched by all the bait he puts down. They are very tolerant of humans, pretty much ignoring us at times hence some of the shots were from fairly close range. I don't think I will be running out of sport there anytime soon:-) I've not even been over the fields to see how many bunnies he has. Fun times ahead:-)

I recently obtained some new permission, a 180 acre farm with 30 acres of farm buildings ( it's a pig farm mainly). To say they have a rat problem is an understatement, much to my joy:-) So while I'm waiting for the land to be cleared by my FAO for my .22 rimmy, I have been round the farm buildings twice, both times during the day and both times for about two hours. Not too bad a start, there is something strangely enjoyable about shooting rats:-)

The thing to remember about magnification is that it also magnifies your errors.
-
I've got one, very nice gun except the mag release could be a bit longer for comfort in my opinion.
-
Does anyone know if the mag release on an Anschutz 1417 can be extended or if there is a modification for this? My sausage like fingers would find it a little easier to operate if there is??? Cheers
