  1. Cheers for that, i thought so, the gun dealer will not separate them so i will have to buy both of them, its up for £375 but i know i will be buying a scope i simply do no not want, they did say i could sell it on Ebay but for how much ? Also what mounts would you guys get for a decent scope like the ones mentioned ?
  2. I have seen a rifle in the fabled left hand stock (which is what i am) and even in Walnut !! But it has a Mountmaster 3-9x50ao Scope already on it..... looking at these they sell for about £50, are they any good ? If all i was using the gun for was shooting paper targets at the best distance i can or just plinking, are there better scopes out there ? I may be able to get a discount if i take the rifle without the scope. Ta
  3. I know that for a possible 14 years of its production (1986-2000) it was owned by Gamo which would of meant that they let it be made in Birmingham for all that time.
  4. Hi, A rifle i am looking at has a serial number starting with ZT, So its made between 1992-2000, so do you think this was made in the UK or Spain ? And what would a mint cond one be worth. Ta
  5. Yep, that is great, it tells me the gun could only have been made from 1991-2001, but i still can not tell if it was made in the uk or spain.
  6. If i have the serial number for a BSA Superstar would i be able to tell if it was made in Birmingham or Spain ? Were all Supestars made in B'ham ? I know it will be under licence to Gamo as i understand they took over BSA in 1986 and the Superstar did not come about until the Mid 90's but i also know that the build quality dropped when their rifles were made in Spain.
  7. Lovely, but just too far away, i gather there are no marks etc on it ?
  8. Thanks for all that, i have asked the dealer and he has said it is a Brummie made gun .... which is something.
  9. The rifle will be for general plinking etc, i know they are worlds apart in terms of age, but the Superstar is in Mint condition at a dealer but is up for £250, once i add postage and RFD fees in it comes close to the £300 mark, i know for this i can buy a good used TX200HC or 97k but i fancy something a bit '' odd '', something that no everyone will have, there are 97k's and TX200's round every shooting club corner.... What do you think ? I would also have a Goldstar or an RB2 Stutzen.
  10. Just given this a go but the site says i am a '' spam '' and to contact the forum administrator.... would do if i could find a button to press to do this ! Are well, looks like i will be looking for another BSA club. Thanks for all the help though.
  11. Excellent.... not so rare then the dealer model, i think i will leave it alone and register with the site you gave me. thanks
  12. Hi, I have a serial number of a Stuzen - Zd00847 The dealer says its a tap loader... is this the RB2 ? Or am i getting a bit confused, a lot of posts on the web seem to say the RB2 is the rarer model...... was that not a tap loader ? Ta.
  13. I will have a go at all this photo uploading milarkey !!!
  14. ok, could anybody tell me if a small chip in a beech stock can be '' fixed '' so it looks like original, i intend to sand down the whole stock anyway as there some other marks etc, but this sort of missing bit of wood is a bit of a concern, can a professional fix it so it looks good ? Ta.
  15. I do like the 95 but after looking at the 98 i am smitten, i know it will shoot well and to me it is just stunning to look at which is important as well.
  16. Having looked at the HW's.... i came across one i had not even considered, the HW98. It looks stunning, and although a bit more than the 95 i think i will try and find a mint one on the web. Thanks for the help and i will post pics when i eventually find one..... they do seem a bit rare though !
  17. Thanks for all that, i will bide my time and see what comes up.
  18. Right then, i guess its Germany all the way A break barrel would be nice and if possible a leftie, i have seen a nice HW80 but its not the carbine and its in a custom leftie stock (very nice), but it is also £300 with no scope !
  19. After 30 odd years of no air rifle, i wish to 'recaputre' my youth and attempt to get a decent springer. I always lusted after a Mercury or Airsporter ' S ' , But never really achieved it. I had been looking at a BSA Lightning XL or a BSA Superstar, if i get a BSA then i want one of the Brummie versions not the Gammo. So which models am i looking at.... a carbine would be nice as well. On the Weihrauch side my thoughs were a 97k or a 77k Just to be used for general plinking and target (paper) shooting. Thanks.
  20. Hi, Just started my search for a decent used air rifle and found the forum when putting in BSA Mercury S !! A good 30 years ago i lusted after such a rifle (well the standard version anyways), the Airsporter was just a dream !! So one army career later..... a number of years shooting practical pistol (with a very tricked up Colt Gold Cup Series 70 .45 ACP) and here i am. Following the firearms ban i simply gave up shooting but now i would like to get back into it by taking up my first experience of firearms, that of target air rifle. I will be posting in the wanted ads for the afore m
