With a bit of food on the banks it will be pretty obvious if the ducks are taking it , they are the messiest eaters in the world ..everything will be puddled up .. good luck with it .

Another top quality knife ...

Great effort , multiple kills especially on sika takes some doing , they always seem the most alert of all the deer .During my park days they always seemed to ball up , but never stop moving .. thats definitely a good days work . Cheap ammo Matt ...?

GL can never go back to the places he’s been to , there’s fcuk all left to eat or drink ..?

Do you actually want the deer managed or is this just to get a return money wise . ? If it’s to actually manage the deer numbers one person would need be out virtually every day to make any impact if the numbers on 15,000 acres are high .

Today see me and the dog out at just before first light , first real frost with all the exposed fields white , cold easterly blowing is an ideal wind to work with on my Ashdown permission , I’m able to get cover to get me right down to the bottom woods and the margins around them that is normally frost free .. Today was no exception and there was several groups dotted along the edge , first to go was a fairly easy 100 yarder , she was actually out in the field walking towards me , a cough stoped her and she fell to the shot , from where I was I could see clearly she wasn’t going anywhere .. tw

Welcome mate , I’m from that part of the country ....

The one thing my dog dosnt want to do is walk behind , she wants her nose in front and seems to want clean air , and is continually scenting as we walk . I’ve given up trying to make her walk behind on the basis her nose is better than my eyes .Ive lost count of the times she is proved right ..the thing that amazes me is the distance she scents them at , with a bit of breeze 80/90 metres is no problem ..

We get them fairly regularly after the birds on the feeders , seen them strike a couple of times over the years , it really is all over in a second with just the odd feather floating down , both times that I have seen it there was only a couple of birds using the feeder , when there are lots on them he they don’t seem to try , they often fly across but never seem interested ..

That looks a really useful every day knife , nothing fancy just a good all rounder .The quality speaks for itself.. -
Out early this morning I was over the farm before light, managed to knock a whole cup of coffee over filling the compartments in the centre console ? ..that cleared up and with hardly a breath of wind I started my way round the chosen route , all the fields that were the normal hang outs were empty , yesterday there was upwards of 90 out . Two hours in and not a deer to be seen , cutting back through the wood I bumped a bunch of thirty , nothing I could get a shot at but at least I’d found some so pressed on into a plantation of oaks where I found a few more , again no chance of a clear shot I

Other end of the scale this pricket was only 58lb in the chiller , another one that needed going .

Sad day , enjoyed his programs ( apart from that laugh ) can only think he did good for angling ..RIP

With the prickets and bucks I used to hook there heads on the quad rack then stand on the back and pull them up , quite a few times I ended asreover head and back to square one .. the doe’s were never a problem I could just pick them up and put them on .. this getting old is a pain !

I’ve had one of these for the last few years .. When I bought this pully it was about £14 ...it came with a gambrel but I prefer the smaller type , this and a length of climbing rope saves me no end of struggling , you can see the self locking bar in the top picture . The big stuff I normally lower down straight on to the quad once I ve gralloched them . I don’t know what possessed me to carry that big buck out , must have been a rush of blood to the head , I won’t be doing it again any time soon ?
