It was just a very poor sick looking animal,allthough fluke is not considered a reason to discard this one was in my opiniun not good enough to put in thefood chain,gralloched out it would'nt have weighed more than 18lb.I work on the 'would i want to eat guide' ....no..it just did'nt look good enough..
  7. my mate from essex is of the same mind, he hasseen a big increase in sheep grazing and in fluke,on my bit there are no sheep at all ,but it is as i said very wet in places. Onthe subject of sheep they are my pet hate,lots of sheep = not so many deer,I dont think deer likethem 1st or last.
  8. Dont think so.given the ice & snow we had over the last few years it does'nt seem to impact on it ,i wonder if the reverse would , really dry & hot..dont know ! Will ask my vet pal
  9. i bought mine second hand in really good nick with a nicko stirling scope for £200 .this was exactly the same as i the 1st rifle i bought 30+years ago.i have upgraded the scope on this one though,good luck

My pennies worth elliot ,had in my time loads of rifles,.22 .22hornet 223 22.250 ,.22 semi .243 and on &on.....the best of the lot FOR ME.......22 LR bruno bolt action .Had one for years then for some darft reason bought a ruger 22 semi..liked some ammo did't like others,2years ago got another bruno(CZ)...same as the old one,would shoot doughnuts if you could chamber them,! The gun cabinet looks bear know,.22 ...6.5 couple of shotguns...anything i cant kill with these gets a free ride!!!! ps quality optics are the way forward

  13. as it goes richie i think your right, i looked at the first pic again and i can see two white tips that could be antler,it dos'nt show on the third pic,which shows what could be a bit of tassle,i stand corrected, a broken man with dodgy lamps (eyes) now only fit for the insinerater.......well spotted

HI all ,was up & out by six this morning for a meet with a guy who booked a morning out with me,i checked with him last night , all still on,sat in car park meeting place for forty five minutes trying to get him on the phone , he eventually answers to tell me he was'nt coming incase he got stuck in the car because of the ice& snow....muppet !! As i was out anyway i decided to have a look at a small plot of land i stalk(not were i was going) close by ,its only about 100 acres but there is a fair amount of deer movment on there,and in the snow ,which had blanketed it , any movment would

  16. I looked at that one but could'nt see any signs of pedicule given the size of him even if it was a really poor head i would expect to see some sign of it,i think its just the shadeing . Yes he would serve 5 does & more given the chance,down here now i hardly see any bucks with the does they tend to be in buck only groups.You might see the odd pricket but thats about it.

I'm playing on this machine ,my wife ,lab,terrier are all a kip on the bed,no bloody room for me..if you post on the wild fowling section the boys on there will i'm sure put you right,i shoot a few pheasants,pigeons ,etc but dont get involved with wildfowling save the odd invite out to the marsh for the odd duck. deer are my main interest..
