Over the years I’ve had various birds share a high seat with me , from a shell duck , to a buzzard , which shit the life out of both of us as it came into land on the rail from beneath me .It just appeared wings and feet out , bloody great thing..to a barn owl that sat there for six or seven minutes with me trying to get the phone out without actually moving ..that would have been a special picture ..

Common down here in East Sussex , loads of them ,We never shot a lot of them because they always gave there mates away , you could look up through our woods in winter and pick out the white ones even when they were laying down , when you first see them they looked like white plastic sacks , only when you glassed them you realised it was the white flank of the deer , and where they were their mates would be perfectly camouflaged ... This buck got a free ticket because the farmers wife liked him because he used to come around the farm buildings , in reality I would have culled him years

Just a couple from my phone taken while out stalking .. The white one I would have shot but the owners wife took a liking to it , the other one I sat and watched for five or six minutes , from no more than thirty yds while I was sitting on a quad bike with the engine running ..this was his first year as one of the master bucks on the estate , and this was his rutting stand ..the following year he was the number one buck on the estate a position he held the year after as well .. The best dog I’ve ever had , a yellow lab that a family bought as a pet was gifted after it eat the furniture , and I mean eat a lot of furniture , chewed the legs on chairs , the legs on a £2000 dinning table , the corner of a sofa etc etc ..purely down to boredom .From the day I got that dog it never chewed anything it wasn’t supposed to and was the smartest dog I’ve ever been lucky enough to own ..at 17months I was worried she was to old to start training , I bet there will be a few people that have taken on dogs that they have no idea about looking after and what a responsibility and comm
