  3. just getting in to rabbiting with ferrets, done abit of shooting in the past aswell. anyway i have a few dogs (pets) which i got before getting back in to ferreting etc... 1 of my dogs is a cocker spaniel, shes 8 months old now... however shes not classed as a working cocker, so i was just wondering if she would be any good for working? just curious more than anything...
  4. i might be in luck, been asking around some mates etc turns out 1 of them is a member of a cricket club, theres woodlands along side the cricket field which is full of rabbits, apparently they want the rabbits controlling as they are nacking the field, he said a couple of the lads tried to shoot them last year but to no luck and they are looking for some 1 to get the numbers down abit, so hes having a word with the owner about me going there!
  5. been asking about locally about getting permission to work my ferrets... the response seems to be.... good luck, its like getting blood from a stone... why are people so against letting you work ferrets on their land if its over run with rabbits? i dont understand any tips on finding somewhere to work them? seems like this is going to be a none starter. can you go ferreting is woods and industrial estates or is it illegal?
  6. good day, enjoyed my self, and was glad to see how things are done, i feel like i roughly know where to start now
  7. all ive heard from alot of people lately, is its cruel killing/eating rabbits... but yet they all happily eat chicken, pork, beef, lamb, turkey etc.... how can they say its nasty, its all the same in my eyes do you get much of this? whats your comeback?
  8. massive thanks to mark, went along today to see how its done. got to see abit of everything.. including a dig and even gave me a rabbit to bring home... cheers mate, really appreciated it
  9. I'm in Teesside
  10. that would be good. whats the score with applying for a FAC certificate? ive looked in to this a few times in the past but never really took it any further. would i need to find land and get permission BEFORE applying, or do i apply first then find permission? determined this year to do abit of ferreting and shooting!!
  11. good to see a couple of local people! whats the score with finding permission to shoot/ferret? is it a case of going to local farms etc and asking or is there more to it than that?
  12. how do you lot learn the ropes? do you find some one to go out with thats already in to it, or teach your selfs via reading/watching vids etc?
