  1. That’s your opinion and I’m entitled to mine too! Criticism may sometimes be ignorance; before and after results of my SFS tune speak volumes to me. Regards, Steve Where did you get criticism from Iam thinking of having my 77 "done". Regard's, Phil. Very sorry, I misinterpreted your comments. I thought you were using the phrase to express “a whitewash job” please accept my sincere apology. Regards, Steve
  2. I understand the point you are making, but manufacturing of any product is a trade off between price and quality. Should Weihrauch ever produce a hand fettled rifle, it would certainly be more expensive than a mass produced one. All I’ve done, along with many other HW97 owners, is pay a third party to bring out the best. The proof of the pudding................ Regards, Steve

  4. Air Arms honour warranty claims, even for second user rifles. Send them the serial number and ask for the remainder of the warranty to be registered in your name. They will send you confirmation and also the date the rifle left their factory. Regards, Steve
  5. Sorry, my age is showing now, I'm talking old money! Regards, Steve
  6. Thanks for the offer Si, I can see me taking you up on that! I’ve only put a couple of hundred pellets through and the power has already crept up to an average 11.09ftlb; with 7.9g Accupells. It’s very strange, I read somewhere heavier pellets in springers produced less ftlb than a lighter pellet; unlike PCP’s that have the opposite effect. Both 7.9g Accupells and 8.4g Air Arm Field on average have similar chrono measurements of just under 800ft/s. As for the accuracy, I didn’t think I was proficient enough to produce the very tight groups I’m achieving with it, they’re equal to, perhaps eve
  7. In all honesty I can’t answer your question fully because I sent it to SFS only a couple of days after I had bought it from new. Previous to SFS having it, I had only put a very few pellets through and hadn’t got the feel of it. The only thing I can compare the tuned .177 97kt with is my .22 TX200HC; the HW97 is a little smoother and far more accurate than the TX200; it is also producing consistent very tight groups at 31m (my preferred zero) with 7.9g Accupells. Regards, Steve
  8. Hi Phil, The chrono reading for 7.9g Accupells averaged 10.25ftlb, but the8.4g AA Field produced a rather high reading averaging 11.36ftlb; quite a big difference for only a small difference in weight. I hope to get a F1 chrono soon to produce more accurate results. How many pellets did you have to put through before it settled down? Regards, Steve
  9. I'm still setting it up and getting used to it at the moment. Once I feel confident using it in the field, I'll probably use it in a hide to start with. Regards, Steve
  10. I was the same John, worth the wait though! Regards, Steve
  11. Well here it is! My new SFS stage 2 tuned HW97kt fitted with a Hawke Panorama EV 4-12x40 AO IR scope. I have been testing pellets and taking chronograph readings most of today; Accupell are the tightest group of the seven brands I have tried. They are consistently grouping easily within a six penny piece at 30m. AA Field & JSB 4.52 Exact were very close runners up; with AA Field producing the highest chrono reading of 11.44lbft. Surprisingly, Daystate LI produced the worst group of all, 30mm centres apart on the worst. I didn’t clean the barrel after a different change of pellet; I took
  12. I'll be bringing it with me to show off Phil; but I will be using my HW100 to bring home the bacon! Regards, Steve
  13. At 3.30pm today, I answered my phone to receive the words “ready for collection Steve”. Not enough time to collect today, but, first thing in the morning I will be burning rubber on the 120mile round trip to take collection. It took the whole four weeks quoted time, but I’m assured by friends it will be worth the wait. I will let you know how it performs in a few days time. Regards, Steve
  14. I did exactly the same myself.
  15. What a sentence, I was out of breath reading it! Regards, Steve
  16. From what I understand the “F” denotes the latest model, having a few minor changes to the original specification model. Regards, Steve
  17. You won’t be disappointed with the AA S410F; it’s a cracking rifle and just as accurate as the HW100. Regards, Steve
  18. Nice choice, cracking rifle the 400 series in any calibre! Regards, Steve
  19. Hi Mawders, You commented on another thread to keep an eye on the op's HW97 power creeping up after it was tuned! Has yours settled in yet, and do you anticipate having to take it back for adjustment? Regards, Steve
  20. Very nice shooting; I took mine in on 2nd April for stage 2 tune. It would be a nice bonus if it was ready before the anticipated four week turn around! Regards, Steve
  21. Personally I find the Hawke Sport HD reticle a little too thick, the same for the varmint range. I do love the reticle in the Panorama and also the small thin ½ mildot reticle in the AirMax. The lenses are all pretty good for budget scopes but it’s all down to personal choice though. With regard to a suitable scope for your AA410, make sure you can achieve the correct eye relief; I put a varmint on mine but it’s not quite right and I am going to try swapping scopes around off my other rifles when I get chance. Regards, Steve
  22. Today I bought a new Air Arms S410F Carbine in .22 to complete my air rifle collection and also as a replacement for the Brocock Contour I recently sold. I also bought away a tin of AA Field pellets to get me started. The shop didn’t have the scope I wanted in stock, so I ordered it for collection later in the week. The AA410 is a beautiful looking rifle, nicely balanced and comfortable to shoulder; attributes that attracted me to it in the first place. After fitting a temporary scope, I set about zeroing and generally getting used to handling and shooting the rifle. Once I had zeroed at
