  1. Your more than generous Daz but if you don’t want to keep what’s left put it in a charity box. Regards, Steve
  2. Hi Daz, May be best to use recorded delivery. I will put a £20 cheque in the post for you in the morning, that should easily cover the postage. Extra chores for Brandon this weekend I think! Regards, Steve
  3. PM sent Daz Brandon (grandson) will be chuffed to bits with your generous offer. I am very grateful too as I have been digging deep into my own pockets to help set him up with the rifle. A very big thank you. Kind regards, Steve
  4. If it's still available it would go nice on my grandsons Ultra. Please let me know how to send you the postage cost. Regards, Steve
  5. It’ll take something major to keep me away Aaron. Look forward to the meet with shooting friends (no pun intended) again. Regards, Steve
  6. Great day out, really enjoyed it. The old man still has a bit of life and a competitive streak! Regards, Steve
  7. Some people have reported quality issues with Hawke scopes. I have three Panoramas including a 4-12x40 AO fitted to my 97k; and I’ve experienced no problems. I simple love the fine lines of the half mildot reticle on the Panorama range over MTC, Simmons, Nikko and some of the other Hawke scopes I have bought/tried and sold due to reticle issues. Everyone has some preference in a scope and it’s best to try out as many as possible before final purchase. Regards, Steve
  8. LIST Si - BSA Ultra SE and HW98. Aaron - airwolf and hw97. Gary - Panther and Panther. Davy - HW100 .177 and HW97 kt .22 Provisionally ? Rob panther and 98 Steve. HW100 & HW97
  9. Hi Si, I’ve been thinking of fitting a hamster to my 97tk for HFT use and I see the one Roger made for you is compact and mounted on a single pillar. It looks the bee’s knees and leaves the fore-stock clear for conventional supportive hold. You gave mention to Roger and the hamster early in the video but didn’t offer a review/opinion after trialling it. Me being cheeky and not averse to copying Roger’s idea; how did it perform? Regards, Steve

  11. I like the way the HC handles and its every bit as accurate as the full length version. Being a carbine it is noisier than the other models but if you only use a moderator when shooting in your own back garden like I did it shouldn’t present a problem. It does alter the POI slightly when adding the moderator but only on the elevation, keep a note of the number of clicks and it’s easy to change between the two. The TX200 is very easy to work on too with no special tools required. Regards, Steve
  12. I don’t know about the warranty but the Panorama is an excellent scope for the money, I have three; two 4-12x40’s and one 4-12x50. In the past I have had several MTC scopes, two Vipers, a Mamba and I still have a Viper connect; all good scopes but my preference is the Hawke Panorama. The reason I like the Panorama is the sharp and uncluttered half mildot reticle, the field of view, good optics and a price I can afford. Regards, Steve
  13. It is “knot” a problem; sorry I couldn’t resist the pun!
  14. Lots of unknown variables to your question but generally when shooting on an incline (say 30deg) to a distance of 25yd and your scope is zeroed at 25yd on a horizontal plain, the point of impact will be higher than the same zero point of aim by about ¼” depending upon the ftlb power. Hold under of the cross hairs by about ¼”will be required to compensate for the incline. The only successful way to achieve the desired accuracy is to practice on your permission, get to know the distances and inclines before attempting to shoot live quarry. Regards, Steve
  15. Hi Roger, I find a sling with a neoprene insert on the shoulder area stays put. I bought one from SFS a few weeks ago, it cost about £14 and I am very pleased with the way it clings when moving about. Regards, Steve
  16. Never look old enough to have retired, far to young. You’re too kind Roger, but 45 years hard work in the construction industry was long enough to wear me out. Regards, Steve
  17. The way I feel at present I will probably go to sleep when I drop down to take prone shots. My part time relief work at my local school has turned into full time during the school holidays carrying out maintenance work. I have not worked this hard since my retirement four years ago! Regards, Steve
  18. I don’t want to give too many details away on the forum Aaron, I’ll give you a detailed account at the weekend. Regards, Steve.
  19. You’re very welcome Si. Looking at the stain it could do with another coat before oiling, I will bring some down with me at the weekend and apply another layer. Regards, Steve
  20. That really is a wonderful invitation Si; I am more than happy to accept. It will be great meeting you and Laura again. Thanks very much and see you on Saturday. Regards, Steve
  21. That’s a really kind offer Si; I wouldn’t have to bed down with the Staffs would I? Joking aside, I need to be back early on the Monday morning to open school up for maintenance contractors, so regretfully must decline your generous offer. If I do have duties in the school theatre next weekend I am going to tell them to bring in one of the other relief caretakers to cover it. Definitely coming so please add my name to the list. Regards, Steve.
  22. I’m going to check my school (theatre) commitments and see if I can get away to join you. It will be good to meet friends from the HLF again and perhaps make new friends as well. Regards, Steve
  23. Great respect for an unsupported standing head shot at 32yd Arron. Regards, Steve
  24. Looks to be a good event! Weather permitting and if I'm not wanted at school I will be there. Regards, Steve
