  1. There are that many good quality guns on the market for a grand or less and I gree with Walshie in terms of a cheaper gun is not a worse gun. I would get to a good sized gun shop and see what feels right to you as I think fit and balance are more important that make and gizmos and fancy wood/ finishes. I would stick with OU (single trigger multi choke) for first gun- the extra shot in a semi is not that much of a bounus and if you ever got an invite or joined a syndicate a semi is no good.
  2. Odd request but if you really want one why not get intouch with a game dealer or deer park. My dogs love the rib cage, bones and trimmings of roe I shoot but would not waste a whole deer on them unless it was RTA.
  3. Had a hawke endurance and it was ok, but the optics faded early on at dusk. Now use weaver and bushnell elite and find them a lot better compared to the hawke for not a lot more £ than a new hawke. Hawke are a bit gimmicky over quality I think
  4. Hull and east riding wildfowlers would be a good place to start

  6. Hardly used .22 2240 Ratbuster pistol with a couple of spare CO2 canisters. One of the most powerful pistols available and constantly delivers 6 ftlb. Used to dispatch mink in cage traps and did a good job- more power than needed. £70 plus postage. PM if interested

  10. .308 ticks all the boxes and meat damage may not be as much i my experience as it is with smaller faster calibers (i.e 22- 250). I have .222 and 308 but if only had 1 it would be the 308. All the suggestions will work just a case of find one you like
  11. +1 for what muddy says, have it the same sex as the lurcher, breeding and training have far more influence than gender in my experience.
