  1. It ain't you skirt wearers who I have the beef with, it's you F***cking countrymen running the country, diluting what's English ( hordes of frigging pig-eyed Eastern Europeans and black skinned scum ) who DONT want to live in Scotland, Wales or Ireland but prefer to live in England. Once here then having the frigging audacity to tell me I have to change the way I live to accommodate them. I don't see many of these b*****ds at 4.30 in the morning when I seeting off to work. Just returned from France, when you see what's waiting to get into this country (England) it sends a frigging shi
  2. Bang On, I feel like a f****ing outcast in my own country. If a Scotsman wants to go into politics join the F***ing SNP and worry about what happens in Scotland, and take that one eye F*** - wit with you. Not anti Scot, just get the arse with Labour using England as a f***ing experimental back-yard.
  3. Thanks. Not having had a Border before, I'm worried that he does not seem to be eating enought, he does everything at 100 miles-an-hour, he's always active and got his nose into everything. He's only put on 1 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks. I have him on a dry mix every other day with tripe/meat/rabbitt mix the others. (do the same for my other dogs). Any advice, or just leave it. Smudger
  4. I feed my ferrets dry food but supplement it with a large rabbit or a few grey squirrels once a week, this works for my jills and hobs.
  5. Part of our liverey yard includes an Edwardian walled garden, which as been left derelict for about 20 years. Only recently given the wife time to clear it up. 6. Hi, This photo was taken during the recent hot spell, the coro on top was to give some shade, during the winter I fix perspex sheets to the front & sides, the hutch is positioned under a tree so gets some protection all year round.
  7. Cheers for your comments. :thumbs-up: Just visited your site Shell, bang-on mate, Will be visiting regularly. it good to see the Border in it's true working enviroment Smudge
  8. Newie to the site, and this topic may have already been raised. I live in Hampshire just o/s of Basingstoke. This year is by far the worst year I can remember for miximatosis. The wife and I run a livery yard with about 40 acres. There are usually plenty of healthy rabbits all year round, until now. Over the past month I have knocked over around 60 mixi rabbits, the dogs have done the same, even the babies (bite size) are mixi. The is not a day that goes by without a dead or dying rabbit in the fields. Is this just an isolated outbreak to this area or is it wider spread
  9. One I just made thanks to a well known house builder.
  10. Thought you may like to see what I use, it's not much but I have had a number of healthy litters and produced some good ferrets, must be doing something right. Measures 8 x 4 x 3. Just made another out of some building material I pinched off a site, will post a picture when I can.
  11. Thanks. Even at this age he's not slow in coming forward. He's no problems apart having a thing about eating horse shite.
  12. This is my 16 week old Border "Spike". Just returned from evening walk around the fields. Nothing much but I luv the little git.

  15. You never know what may pop-up. !! Only had 8 foxes over the past 3 years, all above ground. My JR struggled on two occassions and come off with a few bad scars.
  16. Spent an enjoyable few hours down the old alehouse yesterday nattering with an old fellow who as been ferreting for about 40 years. We started talking about my Jill’s have been covered by my hob and that I’m expecting a few litters in the next week or so. The conversation turned to courts, he being the ripe-old-old of 82 was in favour of small rabbit hutch style,(easier to clean) I told him I have a 8’ x 4’ x 3’ communal court with 4 living quarters attached for 8 jills. He informed me that I should separate the Jills before they had their litters, as there would be proble
  17. Thanks lads. However I am a Terrier man, love the long dogs but it's the Terriers I have a passion for. Thanks anyway. Steve
  18. Thinking of getting another Terrier, already have a JR and a Border (16 weeks-old). I am a keen ferreter and do a bit of ratting, My wife and I run a livery yard in Hampshire so there is plenty going on for the dogs. I want a good Terrier type who can work when required and is best suited to this environment. Any ideas. !
  19. Thank you both, now got to try each, Happy Days. :thumbs-up:
  20. Hi, Recently brought the above in .177 with a hawke airmax 4-12 x 44 ao mildot reticle. Having average results with it, in the past used air arms 410e with very different results. Apart from the rifle being on the heavy side, can anyone recommend a decent pellet. I shoot rabbits daily having the advantage of running a livery yard. :thumbs-up: Cheers Smudger
  21. Hi, Thank you both for your comments, I have always had a soft spot for the Border and I'm glad to hear that they are up for a bit of sport. He will I hope learn from my JR's, although at the moment he is more interested in eating horse Sh*t. Smudger
  22. Gents, A recent new comer to the Smudger household is a 15-week Border terrier dog. I have always worked JR’s (my two are breed from a working Welsh stock) both are butt ugly but game as arse-ol’s. My question, is there any hope for my Border, the general concense is that they are not the best dogs for ratting and rabbiting, would appreciate any advice or pointers. Smudger. No Left, No Right, Just ENGLISH
