Had the 170 lightforce a few week now and it's great beam but they crapply made don't feel too strong. You will need a good size battery as mine drains a 7amp/h in about an hour. The clulite last about 3 hours on the same battery. Best to go for a deben 22amp/h lithium. Had my clulite lazerlite 5 years now and never broke yet but down side is the beam is abit tight compared to the lightforce.

I usually stand one side and the dog the other, can't beat ferreting alone I have done it for years. Like what has ready been said one ferret at a time. Atb

Pups a belter getting big now. Looks like it will make a handy size. Should have many years of fun with it. Atb

If you intend on running lurchers don't think this lamp will be much good the beam would be too tight. I have got the clulite lazerlamp which isn't bad but I have also got the lightfirce 170 which is perfect for running dogs but drains a 7 amp battery in no time. Atb

Why breed if got nobody for them? How they bred?

Cant really put a price on a top worker. I know my top workers would be priceless and never for sale. Out of all my ferrets their is only 2 which I would not sell If I had to get rid I would give them to someone who I trusted.

Ferretting With The Dog And Stopped By Police ??
dogmad riley replied to dommorris92's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
I had it once 2 years ago out ferreting and police shows up saying they had reports of me digging badgers lol. Explianed what I was doing and they left me to it. some people are just more intrested in everybody else business and got nothing better to do. -

Who cares what they called.... As long as ferret goes in rabbit comes out you can call them warrens, setts, holes what ever you like.

100w bulb will be fine but Like you said will drain the battery quicker. If it's an old bulb just might want replacing, I have a 50w in my clulite and it's bright and does the job.

Ida Coyote Coursing Season 2013-14
dogmad riley replied to STUNTMAN's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Real sickener that pal sorry for ya loss at least they died doing what they were bred to do and loved doing hunting yotes. Keep at them and keep us informed on your progress. I can imagine dog deaths are regular on that type of terrain. Atb dmr -
Have to agree Phil I personally couldn't watch any animal suffer law or no law.

3/4 Greyhound 1/4 Collie X Bearded Border
dogmad riley replied to ash227@ymail.com's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
This is a cross I have thinking about myself. Be good to here from people who have actually had experiance of this breeding. Get ready for the anti Hancock squad half of them never owned or seen one in the flesh Atb try and get a pic up -
If your hob wasn't interested in attacking things with much force then you must have had a pretty lame hob pal! IMO, hobs are a bit more laid back with people, but they certainly don't lack when it comes to aggression with quarry! He may have been lame like you say but I never had to dig to him, and he always cleared a set so was doing something right. Shame he did a runner but got a kit of him now ready to try later through the year, if he turns out half as good al be a happy man

Price not bad they seem good quality.

Might Have A Shine Tonight Who's Out?
dogmad riley replied to lurcherman887's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Stuck at work on nights no lamping this week for me. -
My experience of both sexes the hobs I have kept have been very laid back. One hob I had was not really intrested in attacking anything with much force which would be great while out ferreting as never had to dig to him. Was as soft as muck but unfortunately he did a runner out if the garden and hasnt be seen since. Now all of my jills are a different all together they will attack anything from a mouse to my wife's great Dane. They will work like the devil and make sure every rabbit is cleared before wondering out of the hole. Both are tame as anything with people

Al be out tonight should be good night for the pup, his last adventure wasn't quite as I planned over ran all of his runs fingers crossed happy hunting all

Don't think any animal should be classed as a piece of shit. It shows no respect to our sport or nature.

Snares am not a big lover of. But the work were access is hard. Banning nets is just stupid they are a vital tool for ferreting. But they messed it up for us with dogs so they will mess it up for us with nets. Only the poorman sports get banned apart from fox hunting. But it's ok to rear pheasents, partridge etc then shoot them because that generates a revenue for this joke of a government. This country gets worse day by day.

Some Good And Alittle Not So Good News On Permission
dogmad riley replied to Joe67's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Have to agree BPR didn't have a dog for the back end of last season and I didn't enjoy myself as much. The dog for me is the entertainment and the company. Suppose it take some land owners time to let the dog on -
1 hob 4 jills

My pup his 1st rabbit was a black one. I have caught caramel and white ones before. I think it's people who let them go that causes the colour difference. Don't no how to upload photos or could show you. Happy hunting fellas
