  5. Hi merry Xmas all, I have a saluki whippet greyhound 16 months old 23" tts out ferreting can't fault him, marks stays alert, obedient, etc. Catches daytime bunnies no problem. When i take him out on the lamp he cant catch anything, I am giving him easy slips on sitters way out from cover and getting as close as I can to give him a chance but he can't seem to connect with them he either overshoots them or when he had chance to grab them doesn't. Is it down to him being young still? I know he has a hell of alot of learning to do but shorly he should have got one by now on the l
  6. I have the tracer 170 variable was out the other night and dimmer circuit board went up in smoke. Rewired and it's just a on off lamp now no variable. The dimmer takes a while to operate. A lot better without imo Good beam for lamping with lurchers
  7. My saluki whippet grey is having the same problems at min when lamping just preserving at min giving him time. Obedience is spot on just keeps overshooting and the occasional yap, trying to give him only easy runs but he isn't connecting just overshooting all time. Giving him time to find his feet hopefully should click.
  8. Why anyone would want to post anything hunting related on Facebook is beyond me. The site is a magnet for idiots. It must give them an ego boost and make them look good to "friends they haven't seen since school and never going to see again. Happy hunting
  9. The only thing that should be shot is pigeon, game birds, corvids and grey squirrel. Everything else should be man and hound

  12. How's it bred? Don't forget deerhounds and there crosses arent mature until at least 18 months or maybe more, give the pup time and enjoy it not every dog is taking hare, deer, fox etc by 9 months of age don't get reading about others who say theres is taking all quarry by this age. All dogs are different. Atb
  13. Sounds like you could do with a good lurcher to catch them bolters, but it's not all about numbers I just enjoy being out and working the dogs and ferrets. Sounds Like you enjoyed yourself.
  14. Agree fully. I respect every rabbit killed and make sure non is wasted. I don't get people ( morons I think they called) who just kill for the fun of it. If you goner kill it use it otherwise get back to your xbox Atb best and respect every bit of nature
  15. They want a good slap. Little sh#ts.
  16. You could just for added protection of lamp bulb and wiring but you can get away without one. You will need a fuse for the charging of the battery thou.
