Can't be assed reading all the thread ,but I watched Colin bell quite a lot ,a great player imho ,comparable with lots of more famous ,higher profile players. ,didn't get the credit he deserved because he played before all the stats and blanket coverage started also be played for a joke of a club ,but a proper class thoroughbred of a player .

Got to say I agree with Born Hunter ,there are already laws in place to protect vulnerable people ,just as there are already laws in place to protect ethnic minorities ,women ,homosexuals etc etc . I would be very suspicious of new legislation that uses ambiguous words and terms such as "controlling behaviour "or the ",phobias "it's the thin end of a very totalitarian wedge .

I tried really hard with Whelan tbh ,I got a bit weird about it ,looked really hard for the positives ,had long conversations with knowledgeable people who tried to convince me he was decent ,, I just couldn't see it ,. Thought Stevie Nichol was great ,Alan Kennedy was a tryer ,(saved his best for European cup finals ) Ray Kennedy was another I wasn't that impressed with ,but Bob Paisly said he had more clubs trying to buy him than any other player he managed ,so more proof I know nothing .

Strange thing opinions about players ,two players I thought we're awful ,I absolutely never rated them were Phil Neal and Ronnie Whelan ,I argued til I was blue in the face with anyone and everyone that they were crap ,I tried to see what I was missing ,I went to games and just watched them ,and was convinced more than ever they were fourth division standard ,but they were rated by st Bob and international managers ,won a few medals and caps between them ,so in the end I reached the conclusion that I know fk all about football ,it was a harsh lesson to learn
