Hi Guys, Just treated myself to a new rifle, which I got it from a lad on the AAOC site. I would appreciate some advice on what.177 pellets I should use with it, the 4.51or 4.52? Thanks. Russ

Gave them a try but not impressed by their accuracy, get much better results with AA Diablo field. Atb Russ.

We all have our bad days mate, and come home pi***d off, but you just have to keep at it. You did the right thing by putting the bird out of its misery. My shooting is all over the place if its windy so on those days I will just practice on paper or spinners. Atb Russ

Fully charged mobile phone in case of emergencies. Disposable gloves. Anti septic hand gel. Leave in the car a flask with a hot drink and some jaffa cakes. Great finish to a trip out with the air rifle.

Davy, you have just cracked me up mate. I had a rubbish day at work, awful.drive on the m25, and reading your reply made me laugh out loud. Thanks mate. Russ

No, have not shot either. I have an FX Cyclone and it is fantastic. Far more accurate than I will ever be. Atb. Russ

I am thinking about getting one of the above to protect the walnut stock on my FX Cyclone. It seems to attract mud at this time of year. I would welcome some advice on if they are any good or not. Seen them on internet for about £13. Atb. Russ

Just to give everyone a early heads up. Aldi are selling their fishing clothing from the 12th December. I have used the neoprene gloves and the hat with the LEDs in it and they are both good quality pieces of kit at a sensible price. I do NOT have any commercial relationship with Aldi, I just want to share a money saving tip with my HLF mates. Regards. Russ.

Getting Out Of Control Now With Permissions

Thanks for the tip mate I will have to give them a try. Can we get this pinned on here? Regards. Russ -
Consider the Hugget Silencers too, I have one and it really is a fantastic bit of kit. Not cheap, but if you want quality you have to pay for it. Russ

Nice shooting there mate. Russ

More words of wisdom from the Pianoman, I always enjoy reading his contributions to the HLF. Russ

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures yet. Hope to post some soon. I want to fit sling swivels and a bipod, but I am still looking for a decent gunsmith to do the job, as I am not confident enough to start drilling into the walnut stock. The Cyclone has a Huggett silencer fitted to it, another fantastic bit of kit which I recommend. Atb Russ

It has the BTAS regulator on it. If you do decide to buy a Cyclone ask Ben Taylor to fit a regulator to it. Ben did the work on mine and he is a top bloke, one of life's gentlemen. Atb. Russ

My Cyclone is in 177 and I usually get around 160 shots from each charge which is more than enough for my hunting expeditions. If you do get one always cover the magazine with your hand when you release the empty one, the magazine is tensioned by a spring and it shoots out. This avoids you having to crawl around on your hands and knees trying to find the empty magazine. Rgds. Russ

I have just bought a Combro, I wish this thread had taken place about a week ago, as I may not have slashed out £50. I just want to able to enjoy my sport safely and legally. Are they accurate?

Started my shooting career with an Air Arms 400, which is the single shot version of the 410, lovely piece of kit and a joy to shoot. I cannot comment on the HW97 as I have never shot one.

Oh and definitely not a bag of crap or a turd either !!!!

I have a FX Cyclone with the BTAS regulator and I am very very happy with it. It is a beautiful piece of kit, far more accurate than I will ever be, a joy to hold and admire how well engineered it is. The FX Cyclone has now accounted for a number of rabbits as I have started to hunt on my local permission. You can carry it around with you quite comfortably all day. Its size makes it a good gun to use in a hide or when out ratting. With the Huggett silencer and the BTAS regulator the FX Cyclone is a super gun and I cannot sing its praises too highly.

Best wishes on your anniversary. Atb. Russ
