Does anybody know of any duck or goose shooting opportunities in the East Midlands? Thanks

For sale challenger gs 1x20 night vision, with scope adapter, in excellent condition. Comes with different size scope rings, two spare batteries ( the one that's in it is also new ). Also included is an infrared laser, I've tested it but have never actually used it shooting so unsure of range on the laser. I would really prefer the buyer to collect so I can prove its condition and that it works as it should. Delivery may be possible recorded but as stated would prefer collection. Looking for £200 + £10 if posted. 07807645009 Thanks

Refinishing stock and fore end
quakshot replied to quakshot's topic in Countryside Skills, Craft & DIY
I tried nitromors on an old air rifle stock and was pleased with the results, but as I was told earlier on in this thread you do have to keep the nitromors wet, but it works! -

Thanks guys, what's best to apply the tru oil to the wood? Also how do I remove the lacquer from the engraved area on the grip and fore end as surely I wouldn't want to flatten that area? -
Hi, I very recently purchased a gun off another member on here, it's a lovely little gun that I got at a bargain price. I originally bought it as it was cheap just to fix up and put in he cabinet as a spare, but after handling it I actually quite like it more than I thought I would, and I'm actually considering using this as my main gun for shoot days. It's not in bad condition at all, but if I was going to take it on shoot days I would like to tidy it up. The stock and fore end are in very good condition with no dents or scratches but the finish has faded, I've read that it is better to use a

Hi, I know I'm not tha close to you but I do have an old bowman clay trap that you can have for £30 if you want it. It's a bowman trap unit that I bolted on to a frame that I quickly welded up, does the job mate.

Thanks you all

Hatsan escort magnum and big loads
quakshot replied to ian.kellet95's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I shoot 3" no1 steels through mine quite regularly and has never jammed even once. -
Purely too much too fast, my lab used to do it, I solved this by just filling his water bowl half full, then once he's drank that I'd do the same again until he calmed down.

Never owned a Remington so can't really say, but I do own a hatsan escort magnum, I bought it second hand to do a couple weeks worth of goose shooting, a year and a half on I still own it and love it, it gets used for duck geese and pigeon. A lot of people knock them and fair enough if they've had bad experiences but the majority of people that call them have never touched one if there honest.

How do you keep your dogs energy levels up?
quakshot replied to stroller's topic in Gundogs & Retrievers
Hi, I've never had this problem with my Labrador, but have heard many and witnessed once this issue with spaniels and from my experience I think you could be right about sugar levels. We were beating through marsh land on one of the last drives of the day, when the gentleman next to me's dog just dropped, it had its eyes open but was switched off. He carried it back to the beaters trailer, where one of the other guns near on forced a mars bar in its mouth, after about 15 minutes and plenty of fuss it seemed fine, he didn't work it again that day but looked as keen as it did at the start of the -
I use a 211.5 for my Labrador, never had any issues, he hears it no matter where we are shooting. Plus I always keep a spare in the truck just encase, I have mine on a lanyard and have snagged it a few times beating and lost it.

On the ponds on my shoot they don't mind, we put ducks down and feed them up, and now we get about 50 Canada's drop on in the evening. It's abit cramped but they don't seem to care.
