  1. f**k me I never noticed that ! well spotted To the OP,, what the f**k are you breeding them for ??? don`t you reckon there is enough unwanted kits without just breeding for the sake of it ffs ! Give the guy a break!!!!!!! He's already said that he couldn't get a vasectomized hob in his area and didn't know how long they had been in season for. In my opinion he did the right thing. What's to say that these litters are unwanted? they may have homes lined up. and not breeding for the sake of it. All the best with your litters and hope everything works out for you.
  2. Got meself another permission yesterday while out walking the dog. Mrs got talking to a lady with a couple of pure beddies, one thing lead to another and were soon chatting as good friends, then she mentions that she has a few horses. Quick thinking I ask if she had problem with rabbits, "hundreds" she replies. Well, turns out she has 13 acres of paddocks on the outskirts of the local town and a couple of small paddocks a few miles away. Happy days once I start out there.
  3. Hi, Bit like that around me. Loads of people run dogs but very few ferreters. All the best and good luck for the coming season
  4. As mentioned get yourself an OS map of the area, Also pop to your local council office and ask to see the 'Definitive Map' this would be up to date and give you the info required. Had similar problem here but with regards to drive able greenlanes. Unfortunately just because there is public access across someones land they have the right to refuse if so wished. Seems unfair but was given this info by our local rights of way officer. HTH Bri
  5. Had my 300tdi disco for 5 years and given it loads of abuse. Started greenlaning then got into terratagging and entered it into a winch challenge while building our traybacked rangie. Would like to see any other 4x4 stand up to the hammering its had. Yeah its had its faults but nothing too serious. worst was blowing the clutch in a bog, but driven too and from all but that event. Rather worrying about the leaking issues be a bit more concerned about the metal worm, but as long as you can weld and do a bit of simple mechanics then I would say landy over anything. P.s. they don't leak, just
  6. Had her out today for a play around and to see how she was, and all back to normal. Usually do play a little rough with her anyway, as said rolling her onto her back etc etc. Also checked her over again (checked a few days ago) to see if she is coming into season and there is a little swelling there, so could explain it. Cheers for the advise. Bri
  7. She is handled daily but thanks for the advise. I'll work on her more over the summer and she how she goes
  8. Got a question for you peeps on here but waiting for loads of people to slate me and say that i shouldn't be hunting etc. Here goes, Took the ferts out today for a quick mooch on a new permo. Been working them for a couple of months almost every weekend, and had no problems until today. Worked a few holes and came up blank so moved on into some woods. Found a warren with 15 clear holes on a steep hill, but probably missed a few due to the amount of leaves on the ground. Netted up and sent in one of the jills. She disappeared for a while then out bolts bunny followed by the fert. My so
  9. Probably just a bit of residual oil should burn off after a few uses. Wouldn't worry myself as all 2 strokes smoke lol.
  10. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/281572-how-has-this-site-been-a-benifit-to-you/ Think this shows that everyone needs information at some point Thank you. I have plenty of experience with game, I run a small shoot in my home village and have some great gun dogs but this is my first terrier. I'm very interested in working her and learning that's why I joined the forum. It was a genuine question as I simply didn't know the answer. I know their is a good chance that whatever was/wasn't in there has gone but I now have a stealth camera pointing at the hole, so ill fin
  11. Cant understand why everyone is slating this member for asking a 'sensible' question. Isn't the idea of a forum to get information and advise/banter from others with common interests? Has anyone thought of giving the guy a break and answering his question? They may be new to hunting and not have the contacts that others are privileged to. We all started with no knowledge and had to be shown/told how to do what we enjoy. Maybe a pic would help.
  12. Does work lol We had our Tray backed range rover hanging off a tree while in a competition, the front winch decided to not pay out. only way to get her off was to take the weight on the hi-lift as a winch and gently lower her down. Took us about an hour to get her 200yds down the hill though.
  13. Tow bar mounted winches are handy. Having it on the back means you can pull yourself out from where your stuck a pick a better route through. Or a long length of rope. You have mentioned you take a Hi-lift why not use it as a winch?
  14. easiest thing to do is to have a look on the net and see how a 2 stroke engine works. Bit in depth to explain the differences between 2 and 4 stroke here, but a simple way is to look at it as a car engine that has sucked in water into the cylinder. The engine is designed to compress air but water is harder and oil even more so. http://www.animatedengines.com/twostroke.html should give you an idea
  15. just give the bottom a twist, where the blade/line is. What oil and how much did you put in? Not a big problem but if it was a thick oil or quite a bit then the engine will be hydraulicing. as mentioned removing the plug will push the oil out of the hole.
  16. Could be a few things mate. Was the fuel drained from the tank before putting away for the winter? Being 2 stroke, the fuel evaporates leaving behind a waxy gloopy mess inside the tank/engine, I have known this to 'lock' an engine solid. Best try removing the pull start and spark plug then see if it will turn over by hand, by turning the bottom head of the machine. removing the plug will relieve any compression making turning the engine easier and removing the pull start will indicate if that is causing the problem. Someone else may have an other idea but I'd personally start from there.
  17. may be a bit far for you but just picked our 1/2 bull, 1/4 Whippet, 1/4 grey from Ilfracombe in North Devon. Both parents are workers (mother 1/2 bull, 1/2 whippet and sire is 1/2 bull, 1/2 grey) I'll try to find the ad for you if interested.
  18. As above from local paper http://www.northdevongazette.co.uk/news/man_finds_kidney_in_kfc_meal_1_1942006 Dont look like kidney to me!!!!!
  19. but I'm already married, does that mean I can't join them?
  20. Most places like halfords sell them but they are a bit more expensive. Still rated at 100w but higher number of lumins output. We fitted a couple to the delivery van I drive and on main-beam it looked like daylight.
  21. Glad to hear it mate. Both bulbs in the side lights on my disco are black, been like it since i bought 5 year ago it but still work. May get around to changing them sometime in the future lol Did you get a standard H1, their 100w if i remember rightly, or one of the brighter ones? believe you can get them up to 50% brighter?
  22. just googled for you and they take a halogen H1 bulb. should get one from nearest carpart dealer/halfords or garage.
  23. Thought about the bulb? had it on bikes and cars and even with cheap indoor (240v) bulbs, before they blow they arn't as bright if you get my drift. Maybe worth putting a replacement in and give it a try. Bri
