  6. I have a few spots that Breakaways are perfect for, and like IanB I can see them in time becoming compulsary, I was in no way having a dig at anyone, just sharing my experience.
  7. I bought some Breakaway rabbit snares from a member on here and set 25 on one side of a dale, on the other side I set a further 25 conventional rabbit snares. When I checked them the next morning I had lost 8 rabbits to the Breakaway system failing, 3 of which broke away just as I was walking up to them, the only rabbit to be held in a Breakaway snare was a half grown one. I checked the other conventional snares and had caught (and held) 11 rabbits, so I thought I would weigh the rabbits to make sure they weren't on steroids. The heaviest weighed 1.8kg and the lightest weighed 1.4kg and
  8. I got some 2.5mm galvanised fencing wire yesterday, and it is as soft as shit compared to the wire I've had before. The place I got it from one has the 2 types High Tensile and Soft. So I was wondering if it varies from one manufacturer to another? or does it vary from one batch to another?

  11. That looks like good fun Indiana. Fenn traps or bodygrips in tunnels for me. clear them up in no time. Also Kania traps are deadly for them, but expensive.

  13. I've got 100yds of 10z nylon netting, and I know a young lad who's just started ferreting this season. He is thoroughly hooked on the sport and the last time I spoke to him he was going to save up for a couple of short longnets for next season. I told him I had this netting but I have never used a longnet made from it, I've always been of the opinion of the lighter the twine the better, but wondered if anyone had any experience of 10z in a longnet, especially for a beginner. Cheers
  14. You wouldn't in the UK, but in parts of Europe they are a pest. Read the fecking post.
  15. No buts Steve. It's illegal to trap them. In the UK like he said. Not everywhere else.
  16. If there is a few living together and they have seen the others getting caught, your best bet would probably be to leave them alone for a bit and let them forget.
  17. Something tells me that 2+2 don't make 4 here. Tread carefully people. I think you looking into it too much Ratman.
