Look mate, there was nothing wrong with her right through the whole pregnancy, birth and theres nothing wrong with her now. So why the hell would i take her to the vets if there was nothing wrong with her? What are you on about mate...you know NOW there is nothing wrong with her..at least you HOPE there is nothing wrong with her...but you would'nt have posted in the first place if you thought she was ok..thats the point..and...you aint necessarily out of the woods yet... Hello again, Ive just checked AGAIN and she has dropped 2 more kits both are dead though . She seems a normal size now, so fancy if i did go to the vets and spent i dont how much! Luke.

Stubby, in your topic (http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=49438&st=0&p=499858entry499858 lorelei0922 talked about how the jills could be pregnant at different times? Well i did leave the hob in there for 4 days and he was mating with her right up until i took him out, so perhaps he fertilized the eggs at different times?

Thanks for the replys, and ive just checked again and its dead . Stubby, i just checked you post (thanks pitiindall ) and its exactly the same thing thats happening to me and yes i guess you do have to let nature get on with it . But she still hasent dropped the rest of the kits, i know theres some left because shes still quite large, and i can fell them when i stroke her stomach. So Stubby, how long did you have to wait for all of the kits to be born? Regards, Luke.

Right just been back down there to make sure everything is ok and i counted 5 kits fedding off the jill but then i heard squeaking from the corner and to my suprise the kit that she had put in the shit corner was buried under the straw again still cold but moving and squeaking so i put it back with the others and she just picked it up and buried it in the straw again . Can anyone help she just seems to be rejecting it all the time . Luke.

Thanks for the replys, but ive heard that they can have the kits over a few days so i wanted to know the maximum time i should wait and see before i need to take her to the vets. Regards, Luke.

Hi all, i seem to have a bit of a promlem as my jill has just dropped some of her kits (about 6 of them) and she still seems to have some left inside her. From what i can tell she has had them last night just as they were due as i went down theis morning to feed her and i can hear lots of squeaking but i noticed one kit was in her shit corner with a sac of some sort still attatched to its belly so i pulled it off and the kit was cold but moving and squeaking so i quickly put it back in the nest while the jill was distracted and give the jill some egg and goats milk and left her to be.

Hello all, Just a few pics of my jill i mated with my big albino hob a few weeks ago (she was bred the day after easter) The hob... Cant wait to see the kits and shes due in about a week and a half's time so will post some pics then . ATB, Luke.

Just been looking around for some videos of ferret kits as i will be expecting some soon, and came across this ... http://www.veoh.com/videos/v1501761EyPH4rRt?confirmed=1 Is it even legal to do that?!? Nevertheless, that ferret should be a great worker ! Ive said it before, its amazing how stupid some people are to put videos like this on video websites, where they can be veiwed by anyone, what was supposed to be a simple search of a video of some ferret kits to see what trhey are like, turned out to be a discovery of a video like this! What do you think?

You should be able to tell if shes pregnant if you softly touch and feel her lower abdomen and you should be able to feel 3 or four lumps these are some of the kits, my jill is due in 3 weeks and i can feel the kits in her belly. But renember, only feel her very softly as you could do some damage and she might lose the kits.

Yes but i just get them from my local pet shop at about a fiver for 50, you think your getting them cheap online until it tells you the cost of delivery .

Ive just been searching the net and i think its a case of the hob getting the wrong , its supposed to be quite common among ferrets and can result in severe damage if not treated properly? As above clean it with salt water etc... and if it hasent improved over a few days get her to the vet mate . All The Best, Luke.
