  1. Just north of Coldstream, imagine a triangle between Simprim, Swinton and Swintonmill... and the surrounding area. They say they've got a rabbit problem. Ive not looked personally but your welcome to check it out. I hate hedgerows haha, all yours.... or the local ferreter who sees this first I guess. To the north of Hume castle is also a nice whin bush site but good luck with those owners Thats all im dishing out for now. But yeah, borders is many empty holes, small pockets and"owned by an estate". Can waste days of fuel asking.
  2. Might have another week or two but thats it. Hope the weathers better next winter.
  3. Few twigs, sticks, bit of moss, handful of grass or whatever's at hand over the holes will show you whats being used and will be quicker/easier.
  4. if I keep a sniped hob and a Jill together will he take her out of season every year.He will take her out of season but he may damage her when hes in season and may need separating. A few jills and one snipped hob can work but all his attention on one jill?... Two castrated hobs A castrated hob and a jill (that needs taken out of season) A vasectomised hob and 2/3+ jills A couple jills (That need taken out of season) Those are your options to house together all year round in my opinion. Some people leave their jills in season which might be fine for them but I prefer to take mine out.
  5. Thanks for the replies. They get dry also but like to make sure they have flesh in their diet too. Cutting off small amounts they eat straight away works, they don't go stashing it thankfully

  7. Perhaps the main problem is smell but they've gone about it claiming they own sheds that should belong to me/my landlord. The deeds bleed some shared crap so only time will tell. I'm too close to a busy street filled with school kids and drunks to have them on show in a hutch especially when reading all these ferret theft threads. It's complicated. I can live with things like this assuming my girlfriend doesn't leave me haha. They are using a litter box which is great but f*** it needs emptied three times a day. Hob will loose his nuts soon. Got a freezer just for them and will just dock p
  8. I have noticed fleas don't stick around but there may always be some lurking. Smoking them off with a fire works but that's effort I'd rather not got through with. That's what I'll do then, freeze for a few weeks.
  9. Due to neighbour problems I've had to bring my ferrets indoors. Keeping the smell down is a battle but that's another story. I've tried a few things to feed rabbit indoors... hygienically. To stop them dragging it around their cage I've tried - a plastic box they can squeeze into but cant pull rabbit out of, tying the rabbit to one location in the cage and chopping off what I know they will eat (The successor) A worry is fleas and tics. Will freezing the rabbits first kill off these parasites? I remember as a kid we would freeze insects then watch them defrost and come back alive. Will these
  10. Whats the best way to have the net hanging if rabbits could come from either direction? I usually have my poles slightly angled and the bagging hanging out but perhaps on this occasion vertical poles with bagging hanging straight down? Or will there be some unforeseen problems with this?
  11. You jokers need some new material!
  12. A smaller than 'small' ferret on rabbits will get thrown around. Might bolt the easy ones but will get a fair beating with the stubborn ones. Breeding the runts of the litter could very well lead to health problems within that line. I'm not against labeling different breeding lines though. No they are not different species but like the dog, they can very well be labeled in 'breed' categories in my opinion, especially in the long run. But selective breeding can arise problems like the angoras (Who don't take to their own young), pug ferrets (Unfortunately, yes) and silvers (Often deaf), you
  13. A stop end holding 17 x 30cm rabbits? How longs your arm?!!
