    Hunted a fair bit with this pack in the last couple of years.     Looks aren't of great importance to me, but with its synthetic stock, what ive read here and seen on youtube, the cz 452 22lr is the one. It's going to be knocked around a fair bit which the synthetic stock should handle well, and yes Rake aboot the nickel barrel is a nice touch!! Got an MTC mamba somewhere which would sit nice on it as we'll. ATB The 12..3

    Thanks for the replys and advice lads, had a scout around, found a nice cz style on rimfiremagic.co.uk with sling, mod, trigger kit and scope for £275. Just wondering if the nickel barrel would spook bugs bunny?? ATB The 12...3

    Looking for a reliable rimfire for some bunny bashing, been advised to go with a second hand ruger 10/22 seems to be a few variations about, any advice on what to look for, or any choice mods to improve what seems to be an already cheap and cheerful little gun.     I do agree with j1985 in that a dog can look like it might take your arm off but if someone does test it and it turns out not to be the mustard then you wasted your time, pick the right breeder, which should put you in good stead for a great guard dog. Our boerboel is definitely the one I'd choose as he is very good around the family, with kids, also good around stock. The ridgeback we had, like I said in my previous post was very independent and just wasn't 100% trustworthy around family, and in the end that was his downfall.     A neighbouring farm to us was having a lot of problems, there red diesel tank got drained two or three times and various other bits got lifted. Funny how we're only a bit further on yet we've not had the same problem. I really do believe that they do work and if you get the right sought it'll pay for its self. Weve always had dogs in the yard over the years, when I was a kid my dad used to have German shepherds, great for making lots of noise if someone's about, that's about as much as I can remember but they must be good with how popular they are.     Don`t have much knowledge about lurchers mate, and not sure if someone else has posted this. But a lad who drinks down our local pub is big into em, he had a very similar problem with a young dog, and seen as it was our sheep he went after it needed sorting!! So he brought it down the farm, we got one our big texel tups, put him in a small pen made of fencing hurdles, chucked the dog in, stood back and let nature take its course. Pretty much Instantly solved his problem, dog never looked at a sheep again! ATB The 12...3

    We've got big problems with rats on the farm this year, more so than ever. Were doing all the usual things i.e baiting up, few traps etc. But an old boy i know was telling me about his mate back in the day that used to use planks of wood covered in some sort of sticky stuff which got the rats as they ran along it, and also a he used a 45 gallon drum half filled with water but with a sort of see-saw board on the rim. Anyone still use stuff like this and is it effective? Or is it just bollocks ATB The 12...3

    Evening gents, a bit of an intro from myself. I've been scouting around the forum for the last couple of weeks and decided it was about time i got registered. Hopefully I can get some info on a few bits and bobs, further my knowledge, and be amongst other field sport enthusiasts. So this looks like the best place to start. Always had knives, air rifles, ferrets and a knackered old lurcher my dad got from some bloke at the pub etc as a kid.
