  1. Mine do too, though I was just matching the thread topic. That 'bushing thing' dives head first, mouth wide open, into any deep water we go near, and it's a job keeping her out of some of the filthy local ponds. Where she comes out coughing her lungs out and stinking to high heaven. Why she first dives in, gob open, I'll never know, as she swims very well, but the Mrs calls her a Pittipotamus. I love a Lurcher that can swim too. This ones not as good as the last, but she's not shy
  2. My two love an evening swim this time of year...
  3. Like others, I find this an interesting topic. In all my years i've never seen anything, but i'd never say never. I enjoy pondering the 'probability' of them being able to survive for so long under the radar. And whilst I agree that the huge rise in the deer population could keep any amount of them fed. Wouldn't that then trigger a population rise, through the abundance of food, and increase the chances of definitive sightings...
  4. In your position I'd grab anything that looked half useful and give it a go. If nothing else, there's enough animals on the FB pages etc at this time of year to find summat to get you over the hump. And who knows, it may give you some interesting graft. Nothing wrong with tapping into a 'resource' when things go tits up. Best of luck...
  5. Having lost a couple over the years in both similar and different circumstances, I fully get you mate., but as they say, time is a great healer, use it wisley to take stock...

    Jota

There was a lurcherman singing at his funeral, and for a brief moment I wondered why, but then I realised the love Wolves fans had for him, and it all made sense....
  7. What a damn shame, a bitch that had everything in front of her. Really sorry to read that...
  8. And that's just the thing, it's not about winning, no one should be trying to 'win' anything. If you, like everyone else, puts up posts that you feel would be interesting & informative, along with honest & respectful questions, the forum would be much better. I've laughed so hard I've had tears running down my cheeks at some of the posts on here, and there's nothing wrong with that. But not these days. These days there is little wit, and more disrespect. Disrespect, name calling and going off subject, which i don't see much of on the FB pages, because posters on there ca
  9. Thing is, most of those that come on this forum don't want just a laugh. Some would rather read interesting posts about hunting/shooting/ fishing etc. With a laugh along the way... That's the way this forum used to be, with some great and genuine, fieldsports men and women contributing. There was more respect, there were better laughs. Almost all of them are gone now, driven off by the 'it's all just a piss take' mentality... And when there are no fieldsports publications around anymore, there are few places to go. It comes to something when the Facebook groups now offer be
  10. I did think that, but those that have flowered have not produced anything other than a flowered, no broccoli heads, nothing but leaves
  11. The North West has been bad too. Getting sick of it now. I'll bet come October you can walk outside holding an open candle 🕯
  12. I was given some broccoli, but not told what type, think it's the purple one. Some plants have thrown a load of yellow flowers some not, but I'm unsure what's right and what's not. I'll get some photos
  13. Brilliant, keeping back a bitch or two?
  14. The bitch in my photo is direct out of Scouser
  15. Really interesting cross. How are they both bred, and what made you add EBT?
  16. Don't bother with that Scouser blood, scruffy lazy feckers they are...
  17. With Rod bringing on Ronnie at Glasto and Kenny Jones wishing he could be there, maybe we'll have an upcoming Faces reunion...
  18. Ronnie Wood singing, he done a much better job than Rod on this track...
  19. Seen things done every which way over the years, with differing results. Had plod catch us bang to rights, sat under a hedge squeeking. Told em to shush and get down, as a fox was coming in, so they did (!!!), and hung around to see the run, which (thankfully) was a miss, but they were fascinated. And though I've always gone down the 'diplomatic' route, I've got mates who've torn into them with vengeance, and gotten away with it. As McH says, never admit to anything, find any alternative to your real activity, give them nothing. Worked for me for my first three trips to Orm

    IN-LAWS

My inlaws were polar opposite from my parents. My parents were the sort that 'nothing' was too much trouble, 'salt of the earth' types. No matter how my mother was, even in her final week in hospital, asking how she was, the reply would always be " Smashing, how's Lilly-May" (my daughter) My inlaws, though very nice, very much had their own lives. The father in law (ex police and publican) had moved to Portugal years before, and came for the odd visit, and we did go over a few times, but nothing too involved. The mother in law was a lovely person, glamorous and ditzy, i honestl
  21. This year, Sungold, Roma, Alicante & Rio Grande The sungold have grown like mad, over 6ft now, so the question is, take the top off, or train them along the top wire...
  22. Oo... Not tried em in a G&T, but will be doing now..! Grew them along the floor last year but thought I'd try em up the string. Those photo's are over a week old, and everything is far more advanced. Especially that cucumber, flowers and fruit all over it.
