    OH f**k!!!!

Clive Rees has recently reprisented Ken Woodacre our local 'dog whisperer', you may have seen it in the Countrymans or EDRD. Ken told me last week that Clive Rees done a fantastic job for him, after he had first used an 'expert' over from South Africa' who ended up putting Ken 20k out of pocket!! Clive took the case and Ken was acquited, also Rees will always go for Legal Aid. Know a couple of lads who have used him for digging offences too, all spoke very highly of him. Have a look at the articles L.B. i'm sure he's the man for the job.
  2. Doris, Philys, Ethel, Mavis, Beryl (me mams name!), Gertie....sommat to put a smile on peoples face when they ask her name or your callin her back. For a dog......Dave, Graham, Ken, Henry!!
  3. Lookin at the condition she's in Molly, she'll do the next an the one after! Well done!
  4. If the piece has come off L.B. i'd leave it open, providing the kennel & run are clean (and i'm sure they are). Covering can trap bacteria and dirt that is present or soaks through. Good ol salt water twice a day plus the dog cleaning it should keep things in check, use antibiotics if it starts lookin poor.
  5. Suppose 'bitsa' is the best.... collie x grew type on dam's side, deerhound/grey collie grey type sire, should have found out proper but my partner bought her when we were at Chirk last week, my bullX, Ox, (although great on the lead) is a wee bit much dog for her an she's been after sommat she can take out comfortably....'Bella' should be just right. Cheers.
  6. Another good 'un Ossie, from there I went on to Brad
  7. Cheers W.H. She's settled in well, not my usual type but should have some fun with her.
  8. Just a pic of our new arrival...... (Note to self....don't take girlfriend to anymore shows!!)
  9. Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike
  10. Though i much prefer a run in the day, the majority of the dogs i've owned just couldn't catch 'em, it just excercises the hare! Plus, it's not the most sensible thing to do round these parts as everyone's on your case! Spinning 'em on the lamp my dogs catch a few, though not too many, a hare is a real bonus to the night. I find that local hares really know what the night game is all about and have watched some good, rapid dogs pushed to stop them. Elsware i've found them to be really green as far as lampin goes, hares really 'dazzled' by the beam. Funny thing i've noticed is that if a hare co
  11. I'm disgustingly lucky mate, and I know and appreciate every minute of it! Sweet Jesus you are!!! Though far from the 'be all and end all' I find that I personally see much more using a filter, eyes really do shine, i know some people hate 'em but each to there own. You mention sweeping down 2 or 3 fields, my advice would be to keep the lamp to just one field at a time and make sure your in it before flicking on the beam, move in darkness an don't over illuminate. Cow fields can be a haven for game, some critters seem to prefer roaming about with bovines, though spooked cattle are
  12. Your a lucky man Ditch.....15min drive for me to open land. then I'd agree with Molly, conditions are all important but what do you see around you in the day? Signs of rabbit, fox, hares etc, are they there, do you look at night where you find in the day? I have found that certain fields, no matter how promising they look, just don't seem to attract nowt and the next can be good. Does anyone else lamp the area? Do you use a filter?
  13. IMO its depends on geography, where you live, pure counryside or town edges. I think wildlife (though not in any numbers) will be out as soon as dusk approches but in coming out at this time will be on edge an easily spooked. If i'm out for a shine I personally like to be out around the midnight mark, traffic and people have quietened and wildlife has settled.
  14. How grotty was that cafe? .............the chefs (?) roll up on the counter!! Went for a bacon barm, was starvin so doubled it up with the sausage........was doubled up yesterday mornin, on the karzie........in a right feckin state!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!
  15. To be honest Tod, it was a long time ago (bout 15 years) an i'm unsure but I will check with the lads who had them.
  16. The 'fabled' 15 foxes in one night was Obo and Traveller....these two dogs DID do it back then and caused quite a stir round my neck of the woods, lads have tried to beat it, no one has! The best with two dogs is eleven.
  17. I keep an breed half cross bull/greyhounds, all line bred, I have yet to see the bull being absorbed into the greyhound, all have both looked and performed as combination of both, after 4 generations.
  18. You never know.... If its definatley got whippet in its blood then its probably going to work in some sort of fashon, as kids (30 years ago!) we used to nick lurchers from the local dogs home an give them a run on some very good an famous coursing grounds near by, most gave a good account of themselves an were given good peminant homes, one was exceptional, killing the first four that we put her on, lived to a ripe old age too, seein plenty of work an bred some good pups. Works sometimes with terriers too, a good mate has a excellent worker (above an below) from the local dogs home. Defo not
  19. Cheers, looks like its all softly, softly on this site, i'll do some checkin, EDRD had a letter or two posted a few months back, just got me thinkin.
  20. Not round this neck of the woods, are they rated?
  21. Is that coz its a 'needle in a haystack' type thing?
  22. I suppose this subject has come up time and time again on this site but as I'm a new member.... does anybody out there still breed the 'real deal'?? I have mates around this neck of the woods with dogs from the same lines (supposedly) but the last two that I knew were genuine and off Vic were Obo and Traveller about 10-15 years ago. Traveller was an out an out lampin machine as was Obo but the latter was also a first class Terrierman's lurcher. I'm in the market for a pup at the min and if good stuff is still out there.....?
  23. Hi all, been tryin to get on this site for some time, lookin forward to some good hunting chat and sharing info. At present i'm looking for a new pup so i'm hoping I can find the right one on here.
