  4. My missus bought a £2.00 paddling pool from Asda.........Just for the dogs to have a bit of fun.......
  5. Yes LY, I have done a bit, used to play Octopush an a few lads who play got me into it, some are very keen. Pollock an whiting are all I've had over here. Try to get some in every holiday abroad, Greece an Turkey were good, with the locals offering to buy the fish, Spain, Portugal and Mexico which was nuts...Barracuda was the main catch, I shit first time in !!! Goin back next month, try an get some pics.
  6. All the above is good advice.......AND........get yourself a good shovel.
  7. re-incrnation of Barry Gibb!!
  8. Very prophetic Ditch.........6 years ago ........what's ya surname .........Nostradamus !!!
  9. Puma make good honest knives Scuba, even Ted Walsh in his classic 'Lurchers and Longdogs mentions them, with the White Hunter the daddy of 'em all, though I wouldn't like to get stopped carrying one of those round this fair land !!
  10. Darn good sense of direction your mate has there Chalk's . Think's you prob's got the best deal, though the rest of East Sussex might not agree Them Catahoula things do look a might interestin though seen some in action on a web site or two, dunno if they (like them Coonhounds) are a bit vocal as they have an old French hound, the Beuceron in their make up but they are game feckers thats for sure, with a high prey drive, nice shape to 'em too. Ain't seen much on the Black Mouth's & Blue Lacy's. Though the American favourite 'Ol Yeller' was a Black Mouth. Some crackin
  11. Gotta agree there JD, be some feckin animal!! On a more realistic note, what about some of them 'way down south' American mutt's...... Black Mouth Cur's & Catahoulla Leopard Dog's (spelling?). Sure Chalks would like the colour's on them Cat's!
  12. Very nice pup's Wag......good luck with them
  13. Red Squirrel's are a fave of mine too........ Sand Lizard's are somethin i used to see a lot of as a kid, loved watchin 'em basking, amazed to see 'em in the north.....tried in all the spots I knew as a kid but for the past 20 years have never seen one, shame, though I only hope they are still with us, a creature that's gettin rarer an rarer.
  14. Your probably right Alimac, I'm a feckin tecnophobe an wouldn't know whats good an whats not, an yep they did pay a few hundred quid for 'em which to me is a lot of feckin dough for a gamble! They say they have now got the hang of 'em an have had good results.
  15. Now on my third pair of Meindl's, had two pair of the old Borneo, an they were great boots got about 7 years out of each, went for a heavier (4 season boot) last time, can't remember their name and these seem indestructable, though I found them a little heavy for general wear, so I keep 'em for really heavy conditions. Mate of mine has the Meindl high leg hunter, he loves 'em but I find them too high for general lamping etc. Cheers
  16. Few of the boy's got 'em now, they recon their good, specially if you got nervey foxes, only been out once with one, when my mate first got his.......... squeekin away, he's lookin through it an we are askin what he can see....... 'any foxes yet' says me, 'no but there's a feckin chicken comin up the field'.... ....'Eh!'.......He was convinced it was a chicken till it was about 25 yards off an i flicked on the beam......FOX!...bang, game over! What he was seein was the white chest of the fox coming forward, he was convinced it was a chicken!! He got some stick that night i'll tell ya!
  17. a first cross or a second cross is in our opinion built for big game ie. deer, fox where as anything with little bull in it ie 1/4 to 3/4 is built more for speed so would be good on all game hare deer fox please correct me if im wrong terry Your not wrong Terry but a 'good' half X should be capable on most game (hares excluded, though I have owned one that could kill 'em on the lamp, on occasion) what you didn't mention was rabbits. Half's show a lot of desire on this game and though lacking the gears of the 3/4, they more than make up for it with detemination. All of the 1st
  18. One of the smartest lookin dogs i've ever clapped eyes on was a standard poodle, shaved down short, fantastic shape to it, didn't know what it was an had to ask the owner as i'd only seen 'em with those stupid feckin show cuts. This dog was also a French import from workin lines. Poodle x greyhound...... Just sommat about a weirdo......
  19. Voted heavy , though gotta agree with Joeox, how would you define heavy.......... First cross..........heavy?
  20. Eat an shit.......wouldn't like to shovel up after that fecker!!

    Simoman

Happy Birthday Simoman, all the very best......Cheers!
  22. Think i've read in the past that Bert Gripton fed his dogs quite regular on fox, as this would help a dog underground if it became trapped. Before locators I think this practice would have made good sense.
