    Best 3 films

Can't name a top three but..... Fav.... Last of the Mohican's.... (Just magnificent, draws me right in) The Searchers ( The utimate western) Hud (Paul Newman at his best) It's a Wonderful Life (a Christmas must) Holy Grail (even Life of Brian couldn't top it) Scent Of a Woman (HuAh, son he's an asshole!! (Pachino at his best) Pulp Fiction (this and Resevior dogs changed the way films were made) A league of their Own (corny but the only film to get me a lump in the throat) Brotherhood of the Wolf (Fantasy made dark) And of late... No Country for Old Men
  2. I take your point Pitindall though on a daytime mooch, usually the first thing spotted is the moocher, unless your dressed like Cammoman in some realtree gimp suit and in heavy cover, us uprights are usualy stood where we ain't best placed to blend in and stand out like sore thumbs! As for the dog, of any colour, that puts up game, it's gonna run it, where and how far you just don't know and on the move in open countryside or in winter cover they will get notice too. I would have no problem choosing a white pup in a litter for any type of work, personal choice but I like white dogs,
  3. I know some of the people named on that anti site! There is people named on there who were not even found guilty ffs Exactly the same with me Joe, seen that page a few years ago and spoke to those I know about it. Very wrong what has been put on there but thats what we are up against!!
  4. I like that pup , looks a real lump, big boned with plenty of knuckle, will make a big dog. DM you should put a little more up about its breeding, always helps. Best of luck with the sale

    FAO HIPPYCHICK

Very best of luck with your new charge Wilf, could be the stuff of legend.... Oh, an I do like the table, must be 'all the go' dahhn sahhfff Anyway's.......some 'gambles' do pay off, but far better to do your homework, I hope it's 10/10 for this essay
  6. I do....  Jesus....! Never seen a thred run so fast since Markbrick was here!!! Best of luck girls, it's all for a good cause. Lads, keep it real, all these 'fired up' women are bound to please, let 'em run with it.... I'm sure the end product will be a treat!!! Lab'sN'.... If theirs a drop out, my Mrs said she'd be up for it, (sneak preview on my profile, :secret: an much better from the front!! Now... back to what i'm used to on this forum......
  7. Good write up Tomo. Recon this heat was made more interesting due to the conditions and nice hauls too. Well done Scouser BUT most of all, a huge well done to both lads who competed in a very sporting manor.
  8. Type of place i'd have always tried as a kid.... Thats no disrespect Tomo, what I mean is, as a youngster I/we done well from those type's of places, old wood yards, deralict rail cuttings, gardens... Loads of good action, fair hauls and fun.... places that always held, and now as we have grown older, for some reason, I/we tend to leave them, as if the 'grass is some how greener' in open countryside. Find your game wherever it may be..... The mark of a true moocher. Well done
  9. Barbados - Typicaly Tropical Seven Tears - The Goombay Dance Band. Seasons in the Sun - Terry Jacks
  10. In the order I read 'em through the years..... (I think!) Lurchers & longdogs - Walsh Rebecca The Lurcher - Simpson Rogues & Running Dogs - Plummer It's My Delight - V. Fitzgerald Nathan - Plummer Fell Terrier - Plummer Off the Beaten Track - Plummer World of The Working Terrier - Harcombe A Mouchers Tale - Lloyd A Bird In The Hand - Doherty ..... So far....
  11. Well put Simo.... Nice one Ian I hear from A you had a good night on the shine last night Bosun Moonshine! Pair of us pissed as farts sitting in my Land Rover at the end of the street .......... To Mr Ian, Thanks, just thanks.
  12. Read breed standards and write-ups for most pedigree dogs and they'll tell you the same shite. Why take the gamble when you could have a cold-blood worker to worker whippet, bred in the pink over generations.... and if you fancied a long coat, bang a 'working' Bedlington/Collie/Saluki/Deerhound over it!!
  13. Nice find... Though it does look like those chocolate ones you hang on Christmas tree's!
  14. The first pic looks like an old line bred collieX I once seen, think it was a David James dog. As for the other... Its just been bred purely for looks, these are just some whimsicle (spelling!) fad for mini Borzoi's and such like....... Work....? Form, should follow function....
  15. Once upon a time..... when the tip was there, it was rat Mecca, drew folks in from all over the country. You'd have more success around the shrubberys of your local McDonalds now....
  16. Well put Simo.... Nice one Ian
  17. Good stuff Bird Some dogs just plain don't take to retrieving but as long as they catch and don't feck off down the field with 'em... good sport can always be had.

    FLOYD BOUDREAUX

Can't better that Stabs but i'll deffo second it!
  19. My old bitch back.... She's in my avator pic, though, my new 'charge' is shaping up well...... Failing that, one of Joe Ox's pups.... Anyone in the market for an all round, knock about, numbers dog.... Look no further!!
  20. Whilst all above can work, just try the most simple thing.... Hold your dog by the collar whilst pointing the beam, both on moving targets and squatters, direct its head toward what you want it to see. You will only need to do this for the first few, after that it'll know where to look. Good hunting
  21. Great stuff Undisputed, always nice when someone says they have a 'problem', opportunity like that doesn't come round that often, you certainly done well
  22. Now these should make very handy dogs !! (Wish I was in the market for one myself) Best of luck with 'em Joe
  23. A good few years back a local lad had a cracker, made a fair name for itself around Liverpool, both day and night this first cross was both very inteligent and game as feck. Ted Walsh mentions them in his L&LD's, they've been around for a while and I'm sure back before the boom they must have earned their keep as back then people didn't carry passengers. What made them go out of favour, maybe the 'climate' back then as both commercial bred collie crosses and bull crosses made an impact. Maybe it was simply that all those early references always pointed to the 'high litter wasage'
